Yeah, you are probably inputting the ultra too slow
what helped my learn is to just do dash ultra over and over, before adding the shoryuken part in
once you can shoryuken FADC and the dash ultra consistently, add them together
When FADC’ing, you don’t have to hold mp and mk. Just dash and buffer the ultra.
I forgot to mention that the FADC ultra timing should be complete as the opponent is STARTING to fall after the arc from the shoryuken. Anytime after or before that, you might have a chance of missing. Again, try practicing the Ultra motion while dashing to get used to the execution. It isn’t easy but you’ll do it soon enough.

Use cmp cmp, or cmp clp, clp cmp, or cmp cmk forward fierce
I would say definitely try to zone him to the best of your ability.When you get a knock down put the pressure on with safe jump OS’s.Sometimes when they do sonic boom and wall jump there is a window to SRK their jump after blocking the boom…so keep an eye out for it.

When to use what shoryuken? Do I only use hp in combo’s? I use mp as anti airs but I actually don’t really think about the lp and hp version. I always use hp as a habit for srk FADC U1 but I find it trades alot.
Another question: what fireball should I use after c.mk and why?
HP SRK should be used in combos,MP is your main anti-air because it has the most invincibility out of all of them,LP has it’s uses as an anti-air sometimes though. As for the fireball I use HP but for no particular reason,I don’t think it makes much of a difference except HP might let it combo at a farther distance since it is the fastest.Also EX firebal is used sometimes of course,mainly to fish for ultra for me.
So I should use mp shoryu for counter poking / (non combo) srk FADC u1?
About the c.mk xx hadouken. I asked because I saw Air doing this nice setup with lp.hadouken:
@ 1:03 he does a mk.tatsu to get in c.mk range. Then he uses c.mk xx lp.hadouken and a c.mk (OS tatsu) after that to beat his sweep. If you don’t do the lp version, Balrogs sweep wins. This works against tons of pokes.

I’ll have to check out the vid and MP shouldnt be used for a punish FADC to U1 as it does slightly less damage than LP or HP.It should be used if you are doing one to try to beat another move or something because it has the most invin,so if you are doing wake-up SRK it should be MP for example. Also,Yes,I am basically the only active Ryu player here lol.

mp srk has the most invincibility so use that one as an aa
use lp srk to land on ultra on bad jump ins. Or I try to us it as a counter poke but that takes guessing. also use it in the corner followed up with mp srk
hp srk is only for combos.
Ryu is still played alot in tournaments and online.

Ok i have a question. With Ryu, how do you avoid getting pushed back in the corner. It seems that almost the whole cast can push me in the corner and I am fighting from there. Ryu’s back speed is slower or at teh rate of everyone forward walk speed it seems like. I just always feel like I am getting pressured to go back.
Well if you arent anti-airing consistently you will find yourself in the corner,so make sure those are on point.Also make sure you are crouch blocking as much as possible and not giving up much space by walking back.
That actually explains a lot. I have a problem AA on pc. IT seems like if I do not have precision the move will not come out on time. I dont have this problem on console version.
I will try to crouch block more too. Never thought about that.
