ryu has a high advantage against sean, remy, hugo, and Q.
but why is twelve among the highest advantage?
the disadvantage match-ups are perfect.
Maybe Q doesn’t have disadvantage against Ryu. I saw many good Ryu players who lost against Q. If he does have disadvantage, it’s not that big.
Two tactics Ruu was using against Akumas near the time of last SBO:
EX Joudan Sokutou Geri against neutral jump Zanku Hadouken (Akuma’s air fireball and Ryu’s EX donkey kick hits trade; Ryu recovers and can juggle Akuma)
Crouch block the first two hits of Akuma’s Roundhouse/HK Tatsu (third and fourth hits whiff against crouching Ryu). Let the third hit whiff. Then, stand to parry high (blue parry) the remaining two hits of the tatsu and punish.
There are other variations depending on when you stand and crouch. For example, you can also stand to blue parry just the last hit of the tatsu, or remain crouching and blue parry in the opposite direction, as Akuma’s last hit crosses up crouching Ryu.

What are good things to do after his EX kick? Also what combos into it besides s.MK?
Dash under air fireball is better. Then you just punish Akuma with a combo. EX Hadouken is safer, but you trade hits with Akuma’s air fireball.
HP SRK and HK Tatsumaki do the same health damage, but SRK does slightly more stun damage. cl.LP>EX SRK juggle does best damage. HK Tatsumaki should be used to push opponent to the corner.

Ryu is very simple.
Use EX moves like crazy
Dont fight till you get an ex meter
Learn how to tech roll on every knock down.
Ryu is all about using his ex meter. Tech rolling gives you meter.
Everything gives ryu meter.
Opponents blocking your moves is the key to ryu’s game. If they do Meter!!
EX fireball gives you the advantage for any move you want to do next.
If your opponent blocks your low med kick. You can parry their jump attack easily or down parry their next attack.
Since their couching their next attack is going to be low (a great move to read off of)
If your opponent likes to run from you
Hit them with an air tatsu <-- As they back up they will get crossed up
Next they will sit on their pants and turtle. Use UOH ryu’s UOH is one of the best and has great range.
As they run away from you some more. Use your EX fireball to get in close.
If you get rush down <— Use your ex Dragon to make them pay for thinking they can just run up on you.
People fight ryu out of fear.

People will play you with fear when they know you have a full super.
Un till you get full super they will try to punk you. You must use your ex fireball to get in. Once they block your moves your meter will charge up like crazy!!
Right before your meter is full your opponent will rush you down. You use the ex dragon to catch them off guard to set up a block string that will get you to Full super.
When you pick SAIII
Make sure you can handle your opponents rush down. When the match starts. They are coming.
People want to quickly hit you before you get super. People will think you will sit on your super. This is when you catch them with an ex dragon. Set up your block string. Then you will have full super.
Note.
Once you bet your first ex bar. Ryu’s Meter charges up Very fast. Any moves blocked by your opponent is a liability to them. You can use your ex fireball to basically hand cuff your opponent and keep your block string going. They have to be clever to get out of hit. But is a major advantage to you!!
Can someone help me out? I’m trying to link c.MK after meaty UOH. What are the requirements to get them to link?

I find it easier to do a s.mk rahter than crouching or even s.fierce. Remember that different characters also wakeup differently.
I just wanted to learn it for peace of mind. I have NEVER seen it done. I didn’t know it had to be in corner. Is it also character specific? Will try it. Thanks!
And yeah s.MK is the easiest for me, in terms of execution. I’d like to master the crouching version for more range. For some reason I can never do s.MP into Shin Shoryu. Doesn’t bother me though since s. MK is pretty handy.

Recently someone told me to do meaty f.MP - kara shin shoryu it has to be in the corner. Have no idea why I didn’t try that. Dunno if it’s character specific, I have to try it with each character tbh for peace of mind.
BUT THAT video, I’ve never heard of a non-meaty f.MP into kara shin shoryu. I guess it’s dash, f.MP on a crouching fat/wide opponent, and link. Thats like a combo that doesnt even look like it should connect, which is right up my alley.
People talk about kara shin shoryu like its alien material. Really you’re just adding an extra button. Most people dont play solely SA2 so maybe that’s why kara shin shoryu seems so out there.

Also, I was wondering, for a stun /corner combo, after Shin Shoryuken, is it possible to do:** Jump HP, Jump HP, then dash HP SRK?**
The control I have is hard to do dash then a SRK motion.
