Needs frame data and some matches!

Next thing I’m going to do is Parry section. Check Japanese and USA players video links, it took a lot of time to make it.

One question, why do we need frame data? We don’t count frames in real matches.

To have the absolute best understanding of which of Ryu’s moves are safe on block, unsafe on hit etc. of course. And then you can work out what is safe(er) in particular match ups and such. It’s highly important information.

Not really. I learned what’s safe and what isn’t by playing Ryu for a long time. I’m too lazy to learn everyone’s frame data, I just test things. Also, frame data doesn’t consider range of your attacks or whether additional Special or Super cancel will have proper distance to connect. You have to test things.

In any case, just cancel anything you can into Hadouken and you won’t get punished unless opponent red parries it.

Regardless of what works for you, studying frame data does give the most technical level of understanding on the matter. It’s incredibly beneficial.

And to my understanding, non-EX hadouken is -9 frames on block. Not to mention I have seen players reversal a blocked low forward xx hadou.

Yes, it’s punishable in corner.

I use frame data to see my weak match ups and learn what I can or cannot reversal.
Ryu players may not need his frame data as much but people who use other characters will.

Hadouken was actually not punishable at all in that match. Frankie3s simply didn’t block. See the problem with frame data, boy?

I tested it earlier today in training mode just to be sure. At max distance that low forward xx hadou will combo, Ken can reversal SA3 and Chun can reversal SA2 (In fact, you don’t even need a reversal). I did not test it ways with other characters but there, it’s unsafe.

(Of course, still totally fine to use when it can’t be punished, certain match ups and when they don’t have meter.)

While on topic, Ryu’s far HP, cl.HP, far MK, HK, c.MK, c.HK are punishable by Ken’s SA3. Still, nobody will punish it every time. If they do try SA3 reversal, just cancel into Hadouken to punish them.

Clearly talking about the hadou here, at max distance that it will combo from a low forward. Not the low forward itself. And you have such a huge amount of time to do it because the hadou has so many negative frames. It’s easy to react to.

Yes, punishing Hadouken with Ken’s SA3 is easy. Use EX Hadouken.

I hate arguments that could avoided by people speaking (in this case typing) correctly.

To recap:

If you do Hadouken in corner, you can get punished by any character.

If you do Hadouken outside of corner, you can get punished by some supers in the game.

If you do EX Hadouken outside of corner, you are safe unless it’s red parried.

Chun-Li can’t reversal SA2 on any distance. That would be broken.

You should back all of this information up.
Sometimes you get bots deleting all this stuff and posting porn links.
So just to be safe, make a copy.

Why would I post porn? I’m a serious player and author of that Ryu tutorial.

I said at maximum range that low forward xx hadou would combo. At that range, the player can block the hadouken even if the low forward connects.

That’s not what he was implying. Is English your second language?

Yes, English is my second language. You mean that Hadouken wouldn’t connect if c.MK hits Chun-Li from the distance shown in that video? And that her SA2 can punish Hadouken on block only if Ryu did it at range where he can connect c.MK>Hadouken?
