Theli, are you saying that you can only delay wakeup during a quickrise?
Yes.
I played against a El Fuerte today and this biatch spammed always “Hostara” Attack on wake up.Is there nothing to block this shit?
id recommend doing fhp > clp > hp tatsu then.
I have really good defense with Ryu but i have trouble when someone grabs me because it knocks me down and then im in for a 50/50 and allows them to build momentum. I was told i could option select throw but the person who told me doesnt know how its done. Does anyone know how to crouch option select throw???
Thanks in advance Guys!!
Crouch and press lp+lk.
So if i do that and he tries to do a block string a jab or short will come out but, if he tries to grab then ill tech it right?
lk will come out when OSing throws.
You can actually option select with LP+LK+MP as well. MP will come out since it’s the strongest of the three.
O sweet! Ill do that because cr. strong usually counter hits a lot of stuff. Thanks!
Im trying to learn frame data next because i know its important but i dont understand the first thing about it. Does anyone know where i can find out about frame data? I found a link in this forum but the link was broken, so if anyone can help me out with another place i could find it id appreciate it. Thanks!
Thanks a lot!
So recently i’ve been using ryu’s cr mp -> cr hp -> HP SRK as a punishing tool instead of the traditional cr hp hp srk combo. But i also noticed that in some cases the cr mp cr hp hp srk combo will have the hp srk whiff completely coz the opponent gets pushed too far away. My question is, is that combo character specific? coz sometimes for example a whiffed tiger uppercut will have the hp srk whiff instead of connecting, eventhough normally it would connect.
You have to judge your distance when using that combo. Its better to use that when close to the corner. If you are mid screen its better to use cr. mp-> cr. hp-> hk tatsu. That works better because the hurricane comes forward and will hit but the biggest thing is that the hurricane kick will move them to the corner and put you in good position to zone them.
i need some help figuring out the j.mk, c.lpx2, srk combo
i almost strictly play online and i can do it fairly well there, albeit not totally consistently. but i’m trying to get it down offline and its not working.
first off, i can do j.mk, c.lpx2, fierce srk 90% of the time, but j.mk, c.lpx2, jab srk works maybe 10% of the time. i haven’t read any frame data that explains this. is there a reason for this or is it just in my head?
secondly, j.mk, c.lpx2, jab srk turns into j.mk, c.lp, c.lp, s.lp whenever i miss. does this mean i’m doing the srk too fast, slow, or what?
thanks.
I think doing the fierce is naturally easier because youre hitting another button, but I dont think theres any timing diffence. If youre getting a slp , it must mean your stick is in the wrong positon:
It should be in downfoward a fraction of a second before hitting punch. Perhaps hitting jab too quick would be natural since you just did 2 clp. I think deconstruting the motion in the Dojo with input on is the best thing to do to nail this link down.
my 2 cents.
I second that advice. Input display can tell you a lot about when or if you’re fucking up something.
Anyone know why top shotos seem to like whiffing jabs and shorts so much? For example:

They’re trying to bait the jump. standing short animation fools some people into thinking you are gonna trow a FB, so they jump to punish.
You are doing it too fast. You are thus canceling the second cr.lp into st.lp.
This also means that you are probably doing the the cr.lp x 2, hp srk utilizing negative edge. Negative edge won’t work in the lp srk case cause of the chain canceling property of LPs.
