Okay so what actually makes Ryu land early? the standing jab?

Wait… those vids were in the corner. Biolink, you said you did it away from the corner, right? If this works away from the corner its fucking sick.

Best way to use it then would be as a hit confirm from interupt throw. Say, for instance, youve conditined the opp to throw after a 2xc.lp block string… one time, you just stand and jab. The jab will counter their throw, providing a hit confirm for the SRK into ultra. As youre doing it of a single jab the damage will also be okay and you’ll save the bar for EX tatsus or bigger combos… I like it!!!

I seriously need to know if this works away from the corner. **Biolink **PLEASE confirm you did it away from the corner. I dont know how specific the range has to be, but I dont mind testing it tomorrow for quite a while if I know I’ll get something out of it.

Oh, and Biolink… to answer your question. The reason Ryu lands early is beause he’s halfway thrugh the move when the SRK hits. SRK has 14 active frames, so if you hit on like, the 5th frame (for instance) you’ll save 5 frames in recovery. Least I think that’s why.

When I did it, it wasn’t like directly in the corner, but it was close enough to the corner where the game might have considered me to be in the corner. It was about two or three body lengths away from the corner if memory serves, but Rog could have very well been pushed into the corner by me.

It was yesterday, and I’ve played many sessions and games since then, so its no super clear in the memory banks.

Feel free to try it anywhere if you think you can get some more out of it

Tested on Boxer… not as discussed, but if you do a lp DP on wake-up and hit on like, the last active frame, you can connect ultra. Problem is the opp would have to be sleeping to b caught with the lp SRK on its last frame… I’ll keep testing or a bit (man, I feel like I scientist experimenting with biomatter or some shit).

spacing is tight as fuck, but it works (on boxer)… now I have to look for a combo into it.bt… reason it works is cause Rog’s hitbox is furthr forward than anyone elses. . looks like you hit his chin or something.

beware boxer and sagat :stuck_out_tongue: and rufus too, rufus is very tricky, sagat is the easiet to do, boxer’s timing is super tight and spacing too :stuck_out_tongue:

dunno but if you check on that latest video it is from a combo, jumpin. you can also do it from fa or just close range

constantly editing post above. jab SRK into ultra works ANYWHERE on scren on the characters listed (still testing)

yeah… lp SRk into ultra from standing (opp isnt jumping)… why… is this known? cause i havwent read it anywhere

yes, it is known and works on all characters at anywhere on the screen as long as you did it early and the srk doesn’t hit at the beginning but on the way up. what we are doing is a combo not just lp srk, so its a combo that ends with lp srk which connects to ultra, it is 13 hit combo

K… now im rally confiused… cause in the corner you can combo most things into lp SRK to ultra… Im trying to find a combo to jab SRK to ultra away from corner. … is that not more beneficial?.. sorry… confused!

EDIT: best way to do what you said, btw, is j.FP, c.mp, .c.fp, lp SRK, Ultra

yes it is but you have to do the srk early and right distance, i think i did a lp, lp srk then ultra but distance is kinda weird so not really reliable (not in corner) but haven’t really look into it

no it doesnt, you just need to be at the furthest distance that jab SRK can hit from. Im also incredibly confused since I cant fathom why doing it in the corner is bettr than doing it anywhere on screen… Shin… sort me out bro… I dont understand what it was you were so surprised by earlier on… ?

I don’t think you can do the one that Shin is doing from anywhere on screen. My execution is shiite, but I’m trying the Ultra setup in the video and it only works in the corner from what I can tell
