Haha, yeah, after a KO I use it to poke the falling enemy for fun.

Other than that, its one of the normals I just never use…poor range and speed, easy to get you punished.

It seems FAAAAR inferior to the almighty c.mk poke.

I did some funny combo the other day.

Works best in the corner. Tried it in the open but the timing is funny

jump Fierce, s.Fierce, short hurricane, super.

Some reason it works and takes more then what a normal supercombo takes.

st. MK used to be good in 3s but not in this one.

That’s what I was thinking. I just didn’t want to be avoiding a move that can actually be used without knowing it, though.

I do it sometimes just to do something different, but I’ve never found it to be very useful for something. I just do it if I’m beating up on someone pretty bad just to make the match a little interesting. I’ll try to hit them with like every normal.

You can connect a super after a lk tatsu anytime. It’s a waste though. The only time I use super after a tatsu is when I hit a crossover air tatsu on wakeup. Now that is fun.

Yeah there are no combos into ultra from the ground except maybe the late hitting lp srk, but that’s only what I’ve heard on these forums. I’ve never done that or seen anyone do it.

s.MK is a great anti-c.MK poke if you know its coming.

Hey guys, got a quick question, I heard Ryu has a slight kara throw or some moves that you could kara um how do you do them?(if they exist)

You can kara throw with standing roundhouse. It’s pretty minor though so not too useful. Definitely nothing like Ken’s f. mk kara throw.

You can lp srk (Ken at least, I tried it in training) with Ryu’s side, i.e. at max range, and have time to hit ultra when you land.

Was better when he did it on an Akumaplayer from air tatsu, but its not the hardest combo anyway.

On eventhubs it says you can link a toward+medium punch into a crouching light punch. Is this true? It doesn’t seem to work when I try it.

Edit: Oh, I think it just depends on the character (maybe). I was trying it on Ken, but then I tried Honda and got it to work.

I believe it depends on whether the opponent is standing or crouching.

Ryu can hit a late J.HK/HP, Ultra. It’s not that hard if you’re crouching but I’ve never seen it in a match before. And don’t forget FA lvl2/lvl1 counter hit, Ultra. I think this one pretty much tells you that it’s not safe :slight_smile:

I see Daigo uses a meaty close HK a lot. Any reason for this?

I’ve just been watching the Nationals, Poongko VS Daigo. Is it possible to dash through Ryu’s fireball? Cause Daigo seems to do it at 1:20 on …

he has 4 bars of super, passes through a fireball, SRK FADC ULTRAs and still has 2 bars left. So, anyone know what the deal is? And, if it is possible, does anyone actually do it ever? Seems it should bee possible against Sagat if it’s possible against Ryu, seeing as Gat’s fireball is quicker… I’m confused!

I was wondering about this myself, it is not exactly meaty (at least where I’ve seen it) and he seems to use it to catch opponents who are jumping back.

oh wait… lol… thats y I shouldnt watch match vids late at night. I forgot using a regular FA doesnt use super… lol.

First time in here, wasn’t sure if these combo ideas had been thought of and put down, but if someone could verify these for me (since I’m at work, and my g/f has my copy of the game, lol) it would be greatly appreciated.
