It’s been a couple weeks since anyone has posted (and I haven’t posted since the old forums lol,) but I would personally love to see a section on OS.
okay I’ll probably do one…sorry I havent posted anything new in a while guys.I’ll get back to it soon.
Has anybody watched the Mike Ross + Air Counter Cross video on Ryu? You can watch it on youtube:

Anyways, if you skip to 1:25:20 (advanced strategies), Air does the following combo on a cornored sim:
j.fp, c.fp xx hadouken (fadc) c.mp, c.fp xx ex tatsu, Ultra 1
For some reason the combo resets part way through and as a result it leads to massive damage and 880 stun, sim has a stun limit of 900! Can anybody explain how he gets a reset in that combo?
The reset happens in the middle of the EX tatsu.
A bit later in the video you can see how to stop the combo in the middle of the EX tatsu, by reversing your guard direction.
Are you kidding me? so the reset happens in the middle of the ex tatsu! lol. Is that glitch or something? If it is then I hope they keep it in because having 3 bars of ex and an Ultra, you could do massive amounts of damage.
okay frmae data finally done guys.I am probably going to focus on the matchup thread for a while now before doing anymore to this
So if you FADC Forward the first hit of Standing HK on Gen, you auto cross him up. Wierd.
okay i started on the OS section
Hey guys please go to the link below and give me your input. Thanks
Is there a list of meaty setups somewhere? This one is probably known already, but I just found it while messing in training mode.
f.throw, whiff foward jumping attack, close st.hk.
This gives an st.hk than lands meaty enough to combo into sweep.
Works on all everyone I tested against besides Blanka.
This might be known already but super (up very close) into U2 is a block string that does a lot of chip. In the corner it does even more chip. I only play Ryu when Im messing around…I really want to dp/super/u2 chip someone to death just for the comedy factor.
Gimmicky meaty combo:
f.throw, dash, whiff close st.hk, far st.hp, sweep
In most (all?) cases where it works it’s a 2f link into sweep because far st.hp hits on the last active frame, which basically subtracts 2f of recovery and makes the move +6 on hit and +2 on block.
Works on:
Ryu
Ken
Gouki
Sakura
Oni
Yun
Viper
Dictator
Yang
E.Ryu
Claw
Fei Long
Rose
I’m still working on more stuff, but some of it is really hard to test cos it has to be frame perfect etc, and Ryu has so many options off of knockdowns that most meaty setups just end up being gimmicks that you can use once in a while.
I’m testing the characters that cl.hk cr.hk works on while crouching. Seems like it could be useful for blowing up throw tech. This does not work if the first hit of the cl.hk hits meaty.
Capcom said they’re gonna make it so that st.hk always combos into sweep on crouchers in AE 2012.
BTW, it works on standing Fei in AE.
Yeah I remembered that after I left for school today >.<
Okay here’s some really weird shit. cl.hk -> cr.hk works on standing Sagat, but only if Ryu is cornered. What?
On E Honda: j.hp cl.hk cr.hp xx EX tatsu -> U1: 577 damage.
You can actually do cl.hk -> cr.hp xx hk tatsu on E Honda even off a crossup.
Edit: Nevermind, training mode is bad.
Far st.hp, Super works on:
Gouken
Boxer
Rufus
Sagat
Zangief
Dudley
Gen
Sakura
Juri
Chun Li
Dhalsim
Abel
Dictator
DeeJay
Guy
Hakan
Guile
Blanka
Claw
Fei Long
Hawk
Adon
Here’s vid I did gives a brief look at (most of) Ryu’s normals. Nothing really mindblowing (I basically just did this vid to test some video editing software lol), but it does include some of the stuff I’ve found in the lab recently. Close st.lk and far st.mk are boring so I left them out lol, and I might do command normals in a follow-up vid that looks at special moves.
(move if this isn’t the best thread for this)
Hey guys I figured I would post these matches agains jewel man I had last night,He destroys me pretty hard but oh well.I enjoyed it.
First match is at 11:15,second round he destroys me with a ton of oicho throws
Second match at 19:48,dont know how to stop buttslams on my wakeup so first round is bad.
Third match at 33:40,got destroyed
Fourth match at around 46:30 or so,got destroyed again.
So seeing this just confirms that I have so much more room for improvement,I feel as though I know my character well and my Ryu is good, but not good enough for my liking.
