Uh… Hmmm… Why Shoryuken FADC if it’s still unsafe? I guess you could always just backdash if you knew you were just fishing with it…

That’s pretty much the reason. Depending on the situation, he could still follwup with an ultra or EX fireball off a backdash and random fishing for pokes/throw attempts would lead to even more offensive pressure. Ryu already has a lot more offensive pressure than other characters in this game despite still being a defensive zoning powerhouse. Making that shoryu FADC change wouldn’t hurt his offense that much.

Seriously man. Ryu’s hair looks like playdough. can’t they make it a bit less thick and a little bit more lacy? Like the way ken’s hair moves with the wind and movements. Sakura has the same problem in my opinion. Her hair looks like a thick braille for roofing purposes.

Actually Ono has said on multiple occasions that he and his team DO read the suggestions on SRK as a way of getting community feedback.

So you’re suggesting that you either speed up his sweep EVEN MORE, or you make his f+mp +5 on hit… Hmm… I’m no Ryu player, but if I had +5 after my overhead, I would probably go with Shoryu FADC over sweep…

Nerf him for sure as far as all of his moves cancelling out anything you try to hit him with. He is a boring character in my opinion. Hell take him out of the game for all i care, honestly. Nerf his sweep too, its rediculous how much that connects even when you are blocking it.

because of this only very fast followups are viable to not get you counterpoked

Dashing forward after an SRK FADC is not always the smart choice.

Hell if you do it to gief he’ll ultra you for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

If you block that next SRK you get a huge combo.

EX hurricane doesn’t need to be punishable on block but the Ultra followup needs to be removed completely unless low tiers get significant buffs than it can stay. Ryu isn’t OP, 5/5 and 6/4 matchups aren’t OP most of the cast he has a 6/4 against are characters that lack major elements in their game like guile, vega, and fuerte. It’s a mixup … believe it or not throwing isn’t the only way to get out of a throw … lots of times you can just backdash and only get hit by 1 hit of the EX hurricane for like 40 damage? so 40 Damage and not eat a throw (120 damage) or EX hurricane (200) … the mixup isn’t op but very very good. Anticipating your opponent and adapting is what street fighter is about, hell if you have a reversal you can just reversal when you expect the mixup … but risk reward exists for everything.

This mixup isn’t even good against (Zangief, Abel, honda, and shoto’s) as they can bust you hard for trying ti.

Why is ryu’s fireball super +11 on block?

Ryu’s fireball super has been plus on block in everygame it’s been in since superturbo … that’s why it’s +11 … in superturbo you could actually do an overhead in the corner after they blocked it and if you timed it right 1 hit of the super would connect with the overhead … kinda stupid. Should it stay this way? probably not but that’s why they did it. Maybe make it +2 or even +11 is kinda dumb.

Well SHIT, Fei Long’s Super was SAFE on block in superturbo as well but I guess Capcom didn’t want him to have any freakin advantage whatsoever…man that pisses me off!!

anytime wasted on tryna improve him could’ve been applied at improving the characters that might acually win tornaments lol

but i do use him from time to time cause hes fun and to disrespect, so give’em flashier ultras

Lets give Ryu a Hadou taunt the builds meter like a HP and recovers faster that his current Hadouken. I don’t think he needs a buff but then it also depends on how many buffs the other cast gets. He’ll likely get something tweaked along with the added Ultra [Metsu SRK]

add a frame to cr.hk startup… :rolleyes: and make it a target combo w/ f.hp
make it so mp/hp srks can’t trade to ultra; lp.srk still can.
effect the EX.tatsu on block; do not make an easy punish (or change recovery) though.

Everything else I think should be a comparative buff for lower tiered opponents.

Didn’t read this post earlier, but I found it intriguing.

They read suggestions, feedback, and critique. Not the grotesque amounts of whining, pouting, and trolling that cover this board. Not that any of the former can be found, mind you.

It’s a wonder if they even bother reading any of this. Japan must be laughing at the rest of the world.
