Blanka do jumpin attack with j.hk
Ryu do late HP DP.
It beated blankas jumpin 1 of 20 times.
So yeah, that is gone.
Early LP DP seems to work nice, but do little damage.
c.hp is improved as AA. but empty jump is very easy on it.
Also, FUCK RYU. I am so glad this motherfucker is nerfed.
Hi. Just letting you know, MP Shoryuken is his anti air now, as it has the same if not more invincibility from vanilla. He pretty much just switched DP’s. And it’s only a a 30 damage nerf, which is consistant with all characters.
So yeah. You’re still going to get hit with DP’s missing combos, and jumping. L2P.

well, I know 99% of all Ryu players are DP mashers, so I do combo then I block. BAM there random DP comes out. I block it, punish the piece of shit hard.

Got to test play SSFIV today and messed around with all the charc in the game. As what you guys mentioned and what I expected earlier… My opinion is that Ryu got the hell stronger now, due to damage nerf across the board. Changes done to ryu is not even significant.
SSIV is now more “expert” friendly and less newbie friendly as compared to SFIV. Seems no longer that possible to take some random charc, and getting a chance of beating some ryu player with 3x better skills. Now the skill handicap seems more like Ryu 1.5 and all other charc 1.
I agree with others. Footsie, zonings and skills are much more emphasised now. No longer it seems favourable to be defensive and wait for mix up play and come back ultras, meaning less luck factor in deciding winners.
Players whom complain abt Ryu is going to be majorly disappointed. He is now much stronger in SSIV =D

Played Cody and it was really hard! Cody has all the tools vs Ryu. From mid range onwards, Ryu cannot throw even 1 fireball because zonk knuckled go through fireballs easily and he just need to let go the punch button - no stick motion required. Cody’s FA (which has a lot of range and is very fast) also makes Ryu’s footsie game dangerous.
I win only when I get a knockdown and is able to rush cody because he has a weak wakeup game, but other than that, Cody is a uphill fight for Ryu…

Cody definitely makes those who are used to zoning with fireballs (Ryu, Guile, Sagat) have to change their tactics at least from midscreen since zonk knuckle is just godly against fireballs at that range.
I can definitely see Ken having a better chance against Cody than Ryu here.
But just remember though, if Cody has zonk knuckle charged up at mid screen, most likely he won’t be able to do his godly AA normal (that small uppercut he does with MP) against your jump-ins.
Super’s gonna be really interesting for Ryu and fireballers in general since almost half of the new cast seem to be anti fireballs in general (Juri, Ibuki, Guy, Cody).
My friend that i played with typically charges zonk knuckles with HP, and uses lp and mp to poke and combo. Means he can still b.mp antiair very well and also FA.
So if Ryu’s fierce DP has lost some invincibility to the point where u cant hit ppl outta their block strings, wats stopping them from using the strong DP? The Strong DP is suppose to have the same invincibility as kens. Although if the first hit doesnt knock them up and is exactly like kens then that would answer my question.
