Because when trying to get all 3 rekkas, it would super cancel the first or second , if you had full meter.Kinda like what happens with seth when he has full meter and tries to get all the 3 hits of srk on a grounded opponent.So that would be actually bad.

And I don’t buy your answer. Why would you weaken a character considerably to circumvent a non-problem. They (for some stupid reason) figured FADC rekkas would be too powerful.

Being able to FADC a shoryu on block (which while one hell of a risk free card still costs meter and is consistent within the game’s system) is pretty annoying, but my biggest gripe with the damned things are the combination of auto guard and being able to do one from a crouching position. In every other SF game at least you had to give up your crouching guard to go for the reversal which required you to have specific execution and timing. This is what really makes trying to use blockstrings retarded.
…Oh and has anyone brought up the fact that they decided to let Ryu take a half step forward when he does a DP now for no good reason? I can’t think of him ever having a Kara DP before, but he’s got one now.

I liked you better when your post count was one less than it is now.
The priority on it is nerfed, and so is the damage. No current account for the changes in his DP have been anything positive, or even suggesting anything but negative change.
Even if he does move forward slightly now when he SRKs (I’d like to see some footage of what you’re referring to, BTW), how is this a big deal?

If thats true then its totallly messed up. I know Alioune has been playing around with a copy of Super, what I dont know is if he has his hands on the final to be released version.
We’ll find out in a couple of weeks and if Ryu has been ruined with all the nerfs then shoto’s will move on to either the best shoto remaining (prob akuma) or a completely new character. I agree with the other nerfs Ryu has received, but dont agree with nerfing the invincibility frames/active frames for the DP’s, thats a step too far.
Without a reliable AA, what would be the use in baiting somebody to jump on Ryu? Yes, you could use c.fp or standing roundhouse but these already trade with various moves. Ryu would be reduced to using only c.mk xx fireball and tick throws.
Werent you able to do DP using the shortcuts in a previous version of SF? I’m sure somebody in a previous post stated that you could do this in 3s. I’ve never played 3s so cant validate this.
And what do you mean Ryu can take a step forward before doing a DP aka Kara DP? I’ve never seen that. Are you sure its not somebody simply walking forward and then hitting the DP? Ryu does have a kara, I think he can do Kara into throw, but the range is soooo crap on this I’m not sure I’ve seen anybody use it.
And also, why shouldnt Ryu be able to DP from a crouching position? All the charge characters can execute their AA’s (Guile FK, Boxer Headbutt) from a crouching position and can take advantage of a reduced hit-box so why shouldnt Ryu be able to do this?
probrablly not. tall characters dont stay in block or hitstun long unless you hit deep, like in the chest area. and you may as well jump into the lariat anyways if you tried to cross them up with jump lk
About the half step forward thing he does this in SFIV. You all seriously haven’t noticed this? Do a DP with Ryu in this game compared to any other game and you’ll notice that when on the ground his body goes forward as if he’s karaing the move.
As far as comparing Ryu’s ability to DP from a crouch to charge characters you couldn’t be more off on this comparison. First of all you have to be charged, #2 you DO have to give up your crouch block when you input the up, and lastly if you miss your timing you completely blow your chance for a reversal because your charge is gone. The comparison isn’t even close.
I know what you mean, thats retarded. If you cross-up a Gief (something I never do) and successfully hit, then you should surely have the time to land and block (at worst).
