having grown up in an area mostly populated by eastern Europeans (myself included) i can confirm that most don’t seem to give a shit about nazi stuff. its weird too because Polish people have actually been targets for about as long as jews were. lots of human rights violations towards the Polish.

Not sure why nazism in Eastern Europe and Russia is surprising to folks. It’s like a giant free space for white men to be as racist, misogynistic and anti Semitic as they want.
I have a friend from the IC who taught there over a decade ago and he described Russia as a place where under performing white men went to feel special (in summation). It’s less about what nazis did and all about white supremacy and anti antisemitism. They don’t care about the history, more about the ideal and how it props them up. There is a reason holocaust denial runs rampant there.

About the murder, when the mob stormed into his appartment he took a guy hostage and stabbed him to death (though some sources state the killing was before the mob formed). This killing is confirmed, IMO it would count as self-defense, but that’s still a crime in Mexico.
It was before according to reports. The mob formed after the police left investigating the murder and not taking him into custody because he had barricaded himself in the house.
