The fact that an official statement from Capcom themselves on who the 12 characters are going to be pretty much made that rumour fake. Just because they went out of their way to be as detailed as possible crafting the “rumour” =/= legit.
I was hoping it was real just because I hate the fuck out of Blanka. And I haven’t been following this game very closely so I don’t know what’s been confirmed or not.

One of these days, we all need to put our collective heads together and start our own fake fighting game rumor. That Day 1 DLC list was almost EVERYWHERE, even on otherwise reputable sites. Imagine what we could do if we collectively came up with a rumor and spread it around places like neoGAF and eventhubs.
That’s pretty much what happened with the first “leaked list” that came out. Someone posted a picture of their friends’ wish list for the game, even made the comment “Hey, here’s who my buddy wants in the game, he made this pic, what do you guys think?” Two pages later, on the same god damn thread, people started calling it a leaked list, and in two days it was on every other forum, usually credited to Lupinko.
Sora from Kingdom Hearts and Sonic the Hedgehog are day one DLC my dad who works for Capcom told me.
Shadow as an alternate costume, confirmed.
I still don’t know why they gave Sora that Shadow costume, It looks terrible. But Riku Sonic is pure swag.
-_-’ Omg, do people just ignore the fact they said they won’t re-release the game again. w/e forget it, keep thinking that…
“omg are you serious capcom does this shit all the time. gonna wait for super ultra mega awesome street fighter x tekken dark resurrection turbo hd remix arcade edition”
Seriously, stop. This shit isn’t funny. A lot of games has updates/re-releases (hi pokemon), why are people acting like Capcom is the only one that does it and act like it’s always a bad thing?
I know that feeling.
Perhaps his DLC status will keep his numbers down…?
Capcom has already stated they won’t reissue another disc for the game.
But that doesn’t mean they’re not gonna stop updating this shit. In fact, it’s better for them to offer “updates” as DLC, because they won’t have disc costs, or suffer the effects of used sales. AND they can always charge it at full price.
can someone confirm to me that you can’t tag cancel a fireball? can you only tag cancel a physical hit? or are you only allowed to tag cancel a fireball when it hits your opponent (or they block it)?
This is the rumors thread pal, best asking in the general thread or the Ryu thread for that.
This time they said there were doing DLC updates instead of re-releases “this time” I’m going to hold them to that, I didn’t say other companies like THQ, EA, Square, Namco, ect. didn’t do the same BS, but this is not about them. I’m holding them to their word in that all future updates will be in the form of DLC, period
you can take you however you want but I not neglecting the practices of other companies >_>’
Man, it’s been contentious all over the place the past couple days.
I… I feel I missed something. We were talking about how rumors get started, right? o_O
Either way, I agree, it’s not as though Capcom’s the only company that does that. Really, they get a bad rep for it from a few incidents that are always recalled… namely, the obscene amount of SFII udpates/releases, and more recently of course, MvC3.
But true, it’s not like other companies are innocent of that, and Pokemon is a good example. (aaaaand I buy every expansion, lol)
In any case, it’s the first time I can recall that Capcom’s gone on record as saying they are completely dedicated to a game not getting a disc-based “update” and fully committing to an AE-style update if necessary, which is a good sign.
Because they shot themselves in the foot with the amount of SF2 releases they did, automatically simple minded people associate Capcom and Street Fighter with excessive expansions.
And then when they pulled the UMvC3 deal mostly everyone completely lost hope that they had changed (Which they have, anyway, but you get my point)
Well I would only really complain if the updates are rushed or too expensive, but they are not. “Super” was a really nice update to Street Fighter 4 and “Ultimate” was also excellent for Marvel, so I’m fine with updates.
Besides, which game doesn’t get any addons?
“Hello everyone! We are here to announce Street Fighter X Tekken Super Special Awesome Edition, coming to an arcade machine near you!”
“But you said-”
“We said no more disc based updates!”
“rageface”
While I’m glad that they are supposedly going to do DLC updates only, I just hope that doesn’t mean that us PC users will have to wait 2+ months for the update like they did with AE 2012 and now SF X Tekken. I mean, I’m a patient person, but sometimes it bothers me that I have to wait 2+ months while my friends are busy practicing with the new version. :shake:
Also, anyone else think that Bryan’s Super Art is going to involve a machine gun? I think it’s about time he used one outside of cutscenes…
I was thinking he’d do the whole “mounted on you, punching your face until it sounds like meat” thing he does for his win pose in Tekken.
But they gave MarDOOK that.
Actually, I wonder what else he could even have for his super art. Cross art would be easy enough, but his super is going to either be a lame set of punches, or some epic beat down.
Whatever it is, if he doesn’t end it that laugh taunt, it’s a fail.
