you know honestly I think something that big would be announced at Captivate this year, I mean it’s a good place for them to discuss the future plans for SFxTK.
Captivate is early April right? So it wouldn’t be too far off.

I’m pretty much over the whole “why not at launch for free?!” thing, as there’s a ton of characters already, and I’m at least that patient.

More or less, we’ll get something either before or shortly after release. Capcom has been doing a solid job as of late in getting the game in the media’s eye now, its everywhere*though it isnt no a media whore like FFXIII-2 was…*but its blowing up rather well everywhere, i hear lot of non-fighting gamers talk about it to saying they mite get into it so thats something.
Seems like a good start for SF’s anniversary…I kinda wished they would do another collection or something. honestly if they could get the rights from Akria i wished they do a SFEX collection, or thing big like that.
April, eh? I hoped we could at least have some info by launch. Seems like the characters won’t be showing up for a while, which is disappointing.

So, what’s the deal with the Vita exclusive characters? Will they be free DLC, and will there be “super” verisons of SFxT?

If they’re Vita exclusive then dear god.
If they’re going to release on par with a Vita release then you’re just going to have to wait a bit for several characters already complete and that people have already played with to release. Or they might be ‘trickled down’ bit by bit til SFxT Vita’s release.
Super Edition might be a re branded “Complete Edition” release. You could get everything digitally or get a new physical disc.
I just don’t want to get f’d over by Capcom again.
Anyone thinking Capcom would do “free” DLC for something like characters needs to stop smoking whatever they are smoking. OR give me some of it.
Lei and Alisa are already on-disk according to ESRB. Vita exclusive is out of the window right there.
Waiting till Vita releases? Seems possible but it might make more sense to drip feed the characters over several months to keep SFxT in gaming blogs for free advertising thus keeping the public interest in the “full game” version available on the Vita that is completely up to date with the home version.
A “Super” or “Dark Ressurection” or “Komplete” edition seems possible but I think that they would likely wait on that till well after the vita launch. First off, to help lay groundwork in showing that they are doing the update as both a “Complete” pack and as a downloadable addition for -owners of the base game (To help quell fears of another “Ultimate Marvel” back lash.) plus it seems likely that if they did a “super” they would want to do a rebalance and possibly add additional content beyond that of the new characters (such as a few more new characters, some engine tweaks, some more stages, ect.)
Tidbit; Lei Wulong, Bryan Fury, Lars, Alisa, Jack-X, Christie Monteiro, Dudley, Elena, Blanka, Sakura, Cody and Guy are almost 100% certainty going to come with a price tag not included with the game’s initial purchase.
If that already worries you then just wait it out and see how this pans out. Wait for bargain bin prices/complete edition or just outright don’t get it.
