Rumours, speculations and theories

Super Edition was never out of the question. Just that the main game would be the only physical purchase you’d be required to get and all further upgrades would be DLC.

They would go the AE route and make a Super edition 20-30$ DLC for SFxT owners or 40-50$ purchase if you don’t own already own SFxT.

I messaged the VA for Rose, and she said that she hasn’t done any recent voice work, so Rose doesn’t seem to be on the list for potential DLC. Anyways, there’s been a lot of emphasis by Seth Killian that Capcom is starting to change their business model, and it’s more likely that these 12 characters will be upcoming DLC in the coming months.

Personally, I hope the game is a success and Capcom releases an update similar to Arcade Edition. It’s a hassle having to purchase each DLC individually, and I’d rather Capcom introduce new content altogether similar to Arcade Edition, just not 6-9 months after the first was released.

Hello, new to the boards. I personally don’t mind the DLC, but what I can’t stand is the “we didn’t have the time to put those characters in” since we already know that they’re perfectly finished and on the disc (Ono just said that). My main gripe is just why can’t just they say “hey, for 60$ you get SFxT lite, spend an extra x$ to enjoy the full game”?

I think they’re trying to figure out a release schedule to make them the most money from the DLC. I still would like the option to buy them all on day 1 though. I’m sure many people would be willing to do so. Especially me, my main (Guy) got shown way back in July. I’ve waited long enough!

Capcom’s always making stupid decisions.

It would be ignorant to think otherwise. They need to spread the characters out overtime to keep hype up :stuck_out_tongue:

4 characters every 2 months. That’d be one way to release them.

Expanding on this idea, Capcom could release two characters every month starting in May, which would coincide with the release of the PC version of SFxT. This would have every character released by October, which is in the expected release window of the Vita version, which would tie everything up quite nicely.

This would be nice BUT WHO KNOWS, Y’KNOW?

Hey guys, new to the boards but long time fan of the series, have been stalking this thread for a while as its one of the best places for speculation and other hints of what’s to come

I’m not a prude to DLC, on-disc or off disc, my worry is that as Capcom have adapted a new business model, are we more likely to be shafted for more? If we look at their past pricings for DLC in both SF and other franchises, DLC pricing for them is crap. I’m really worried that these 12 vita character will probably be priced at £5 each, therefore costing 60 more. I mean even if its a team for 5, thats still 30. That is equal to a on-disc re-hashed version, and we dont even possess a physical copy of it.

Anyone got any ideas of the price range we are looking at? Because at the moment it seems

Cap rep #1: Our fans don’t like the rehashed versions, we must reassess our business model
Cap rep #2: They are keen on DLC…so that?
Cap rep #3: Yes…whilst we are at it, we can give them the same amount…but for more…hehehe but the best bit…it will probably cost us less in the long run as we won’t lose money on manufacturing whilst not losing more on the pre-owned market/price drop waiters
Cap rep #1: But won’t they catch on?!
Cap rep #3: We’ll pretend its based on fan feedback and we’re doing a favour for the community…two birds one stone
Cap rep #2: You guys are geniuses
Evil hand rubbing and laughing follows

…why does it matter if you get a physical copy of it? I don’t understand why that’s important at all.

Its not that important at all really. But if we are due atleast 12 additional in DLC, its about the same worth of a re-hashed version, so im really worried about the potential pricing of DLC, this leaves capcom open to basically charge the same. Whilst they are still having to pay for server space etc i cannot help think but in the long run it will cost cheaper for capcom as they wont lose to the preowned, price drop and rehash waiters from having to manufacture and distribute physical copies which wont sell or drop in price (which is major concern for most companies and fair enough). They could potentially price it up to the same (or even more) as a re-hash version, being cheaper for capcom to create, whilst us as their market and fanbase don’t reap no real benefit whatsoever. It suppose to be for the fans and from their feedback, but what actual benefit do we get? It just seems like a clever marketing desicion from capcom rather than benefiting their fans.

The “and we don’t even own a physical copy” was referring to this potential problem to me. I mean atleast with a re-hashed disc version, its seperately produced from vanilla, its discounted from release and can be even cheaper if you wait, and you have an actual physical copy in the end to show. Of course then theres factors such as DLC consuming more HDD space etc but they are extremely minor gripes.

I suppose the real ultimatium will be how they actually price their dlc, however i will be surprised to see anything more than 5 for a team (5 x 6 = 30). I’m probably just being a paranoid pete about the whole subject, but this is capcom.

Cool avatar btw Lillith ftw

You have got to be fucking kidding me? Karin replaced by that shitty ass of a character you call Blanka? Hell no…

Elena is confirmed! Yes!!! Go ahead and take my money Capcom.

Because you’ll be needing your profile AND internet connection to use the DLC if you happen to go have some games at somebody else’s place. I’d love to pay an extra $ and have the complete product in one disc.

Wait so Leo isn’t in either?! Seems Capcom likes to irritate me…

Didn’t you know? Apparently Ono legit hates Karin.

But… I asked him and he said “I don’t hate Karin! :P” :frowning:

I’d also prefer Karin because i like her play style and character. But sadly Blanka makes more sense. I mean, the reason He and Sakura team up is already pretty obvious: Missing/dead(?) Dan.

Karin+R. Mika vs. uh whoever you want.
They team up because they’re both blonde japanese women =V

Funny thing, that could work with a reasonable explanation. R.Mika arcade path in Alpha 3 sub-boss is Karin, and, Karin actually become her sponsor of sorts IIRC. They could run with it. Wishful thinking.
