I for one wouldn’t mind paying DLC for Karin/Sakura (would be worth it IMO). Seriously, Capcom would miss big $$$ if they wouldn’t make these two available for download. They could give them for free but meh, not a chance.
Hoping that Elena, Dudley,… are unlockables also.
Either Karin/Sakura/Blanka are unlockables but some way or another karin is in this -_-

It may be the full build but with out the unlockables unless they just spoil the unlcokables on the show.
That’s why Im finding capcom’s ways of letting us know whats next is weird. If unlockables are indeed in the final game then im curious if they will only give them the Bison build of the game limiting what the 10 contestants can do as they try to adapt to the already robust roster. With that in mind you would think they would atleast show more info before its spoiled live.
Hmm so maybe that’s why we get a tournament patch on day 1? It will not only address the things about the gems, it will also add the possibility to unlock all characters immediately for tournaments (just a guess).
I really hope these remaining characters are unlockables and not DLCs. But I admit that I would pay for Elena and Chrstie at least.
I gonna buy PC version of this game, so I guess unlockables isn’t problem for me.

There are 4 teams on each side without revealed rivals
There are 4 teams per side left to be revealed
And in old tekken games, didn’t you unlock most of the hidden characters from rival battles?

I think the trailers give us an idea as to what to expect for rival matches. Although, I don’t think it’ll apply to those that had movies for them.
Secret unlockable characters, but DLC auto-unlock key to save people the hassle of grinding story mode.
Sounds like a reasonable half way point to meet. I’d be down if they take that route.
Well so far, everyone that was paired up in the episode trailers, have been rivals in game
Ryu/Ken vs Kaz/Nina (OG Characters) Confirmed
Asuka/Lili vs Chun/Cammy (Lead Females?) Confirmed
And those are the only rival battles that have been shown in game
So it stands to reason that it will hold true for the rest of the characters from the CGI trailers
Poison/Hugo vs King/Marduk (Wrestlers)
Rufus/Gief vs Bob/JC (Fat guy fight)
Jin/Xiao vs Bipson/Juri (Shadaloo vs mishima zaibatsu)
Akuma vs Ogre (Former Bosses)
if they put sean karin alex elena dudley and eddy jun bryan devil and jinpachi in the game i would be so happy the first list is street fighter characters the second is tekken characters
I’m about 80% certain that the cast revealed so far is the final cast for the launch version with no unlockables. The reason that Capcom has tip toed around the issue is because they don’t want to announce DLC characters this close to release date and potentially receive backlash.
Keep in mind, most games sell the majority of their copies in the first 2 weeks. DLC announcement this close to release, especially with Capcom’s history of “super/hype/champion” versions (even if they did announce that they wont do a full version disk release like SSF4 and would only do update upgrades like AE) and Capcom’s history of on-disk DLC could cause them to lose sales.
