They never said it would be a fighting game. It could very easily be a puzzle fighter type game… and which point making the character’s moves “make sense” really isn’t a problem as they could both do the same things as always. Or an RPG game as they did back on the Ps2 if my mind serves me correctly.
Namco vs Capcom: Super Street Racers. Look up the one done by Konami.
It’s probably that Sammy x Capcom game and the people who were it were like “wuts sammeh dur dur maybe namco? That sounds right lets do that”
Steet Fighter without Ryu equals super fan boy rage.
This is totally awesome. Lol. It wouldn’t be fair if its fighting games. Maybe we will have a strategy card game. LOL.
Yeah your right Virtua Fighter players wouldn’t be able to handle the depth of Tekken, it would totally turn them off. Seriously scrubs make me laugh. Virtua Fighter isn’t a deep as Tekken, anyone willing to do any bit of research into the game can find that out.
lets let final showdown drop before we get into the gameplay. lets see what changes to the gameplay sega made.
i think tekken vs vf w/ a tag feature would be incredible. of course there would be a lot of issues but i think they could be worked out.
technically there is already tekken vs VF, its called tobal 2. The teams that make up tekken\vf were originally on the same team and tobal 2 didn’t have any restrictions since it was an indy game. they pretty much could do what they wanted in terms of the engine.
Its a very dope game on psx and by far one of the best 3d fighters ever. If you want to see what a colab would look like between those 2 companies, check the game out.
You’re actually wrong. I am not a VF fanboy, in fact, I am a Tekken player who also plays a little VF and I find VF to be a lot more indepth. Virtua fighter has a lot to do with timing and accurate readings of space to fully comprehend the game to its full potential. However, Tekken does not offer the same depth. It has limited zoning capabilities and is based around ‘launchers’. Land one of the insanely long juggles and you have the game won, so the game becomes more about evading launchers as opposed to a game being revolved around a variety of tactics ala VF. Also, Tekken has many characters that scrubs can mash with to win and other characters that a few idiots can spam to win games. This is impossible in VF.
I’m sorry but labelling Tekken more indepth over VF is a completely inaccurate judgement.
Guys, just stop.
Let’s not start this dumb VF vs Tekken shit.

As a SF fanboy this would be enough to get me to play a Tekken style game again.
I’m interested in seeing how the SF cast would play in a “real” 3d fighting game.
Also curious to see how the SF cast would look in realistic 1080p graphics.
Personally, I would hope for neither a Tekken or Street Fighter style game, but just something new and interesting.
A non-fighting game would be meaningless and disappointing.
we called that game Sengoku Basura
This.
Make it a completely new 3D FG with elements from both games. Personally, I would prefer playing Tekken with SF characters (fireballs can be Super Attacks only), but a new FG would be interesting too. However, if they do a SF game with Tekken characters, then it has to be ST-style baby! No SF4 style. LOL For a new FG, they could tone down the jump arcs for all SF characters and increase the jump arcs for all Tekken characters so that the jumps are all low and fast. Control should be faster than it is in Tekken and slower than SF. I would like to see dashes, but make them one directional input instead of two, eg. one tap forward to dash instead of two taps, holding forward or backward will walk, and double taps can be runs.
Thinking about it… its may play similar to Rival Schools. 2.5D gameplay with 3D models and special moves not too different to SF. Would make sense…
Tekken vs. SF would be pointless. VF vs. SF on the other hand…
Agreed. Tekken is a shallow piece of shit jugglefest for button mashers, just like Bloody Roar and DOA.
Hoping this rumor is true.

Jesus…You have no idea what you are talking about.
