It could also be possible that they do the same deal they had with SNK and both companys make their own version of a VS game using each others characters. A 3D game from Namco and a SNK style 3v3 from Capcom.
What’s the point? Because people want to see match-ups like Ryu vs. Jin, Ken vs. Paul, Akuma vs. Kazuya and Bison vs. Heihachi.
It would be horrible if the Street Fighters could still use fireballs against a cast of characters who haven’t been designed to counter them effectively. Something will have to be changed to make them more compatible with each other. In this case, the ability to use personalities from each series would be the selling point; not being able to use Street Fighter controls against Tekken controls.
But this will probably turn out to be false or something completely different than a fighting game.
just reading the thread title…SF vs MK never sounded so good.
If this is real I pledge now to never touch it. What a dumb fucking idea.
Street Fighter Vs. Tekken in 2.75d where you can only sidestep right and only special moves track…naw im good.
I’d rather they make two games using each style. Also why do they need to do a team style one ? A one on one versus would be great. Just add the series mainstays some obscure ones and finally some original characters that right there is a good idea. I mean they could do these games pretty well just find the right blend of ex style and tekken and you got a very goo game. Don’t even give me that bullshit about the importance of the fireball in street fighter because more and more characters don’t even have one .
Errr…This better be false, it would not be cool to have SF character’s suddenly becoming slow mo cripples without specials just so they fit into Tekken. I’m sure Tekken fans wouldn’t see the point in vice versa either.
i pledge the opposite
Why not just have The Simpsons vs Street Fighter? It would make just as much sense, and they’d probably make more money.
“EX style” is with 3D graphics but still on a 2D playing field, essentially SFII or SFA.
So I have no idea what you mean there.
if capcom makes the game, it should be fun
if namco makes it then… I dont know…
I’ll wait and see before I say or think anything
You don’t sound like you’re a fan of Tekken. Characters in Tekken are cool. More Tekken characters but with the face, clothing and some of the familar attacks from Street Fighter would be just as cool. Not less.
After SSFIV, I’m finding myself wanting the same characters in a radically different kind of fighting game. The SF games have become so set in their ways, its become restrictive for the characters. Ryu still pretty much plays like he’s always done and likely always will do.
Having a familar face but in a completely different style of gameplay is the whole point of a crossover.
It’d be neat to see Nightmare vs. Leo from Red Earth.
if namco makes it, it will be balanced.
if capcom makes it, fuck that shit.

The title, if correct, makes me think Namco will make it.
Marvel vs. Capcom played like a Marvel game.
Capcom vs. SNK played like a Capcom game.
SNK vs. Capcom played like a SNK game.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom played like a Tatsunoko game.
Seems in the world of crossovers, the game plays like whatever has their name first in the title.
worst thought ever? (tek vs sf)
This just sounds like a Mugen guild’s wet dream. Two franchises that are as different as night and day, with the only thing they have in common is that they’re both fighting games, in a VS game. CVS worked because of the similarities between the two companies and etc. Marvel became it’s own thing, owing to the fact that there weren’t any established Marvel fighting games before Capcom came along (not counting the beat 'em ups). It’s like SSF4 and seeing Makato vs Adon, two characters with two entirely different styles of play (one wacky and ott and other based on a real martial art and being pretty faithful to it) from two entirely different games, fighting. It just looks retarded.
Everyone’s so sure it will be a serious fighter…I hope you’re right, and we don’t end up with some shit like DON Stadium…
Tekken is doable in 2.5D, remember Tekken 3 on the GBA? Now since the rumor stated that its Tekken vs Street Fighter and not vice versa, most likely it will developed by Namco. With that said, I think Street Fighter will translate very well in Tekken style fighting. However, since majority of Street fighters lack the variety of moves, Namco will have to add alot of original moves.
