Saw this game at local jap arcade but dont know a thing bout it. Anywhere i can learn the basics and the fighting system at?
You have two bars on the bottom
Offense builds as you attack
Defense as you block
But you need to watch the guard meter under your health or you’ll eat a combo once it breaks
Offensive Arts (supers) cost a bar of offense
Defensive arts now cost 2 bars of defense
Lights combo into lights
Strongs cobo into strongs
(ex. Strong punch to strong kick)
Many special moves are supercancellable (arans rekkas, zens uh elbow move)
Pressing SK+SP is an Advanced attack which basically is a quick forward dash attack that uses one bar of Offense, has brief invulnerability, and no cooldown basically you can extend combos with it (ex. with Boyd SP>SK>AA>SP>SK does quite impressive damage)
LK+LP is a jolt attack it also uses an offensive art bar, its unblockable and floats your opponent in the air allowing you to do an impromptu aerial combo
EIther LK+SP or LP+SK will activate the boost drive its costs a bar from both offense and defense, its effects are character specific but many are quite good (Mito is basically good because of it, Arans is genei jin, hikari heals her)
Impact break is basically a guard cancel you press the dodge button while guarding and you can usually counter whatever your opponent does it costs a bar of defense
Quick recover in the air by pressing Forward or back and dodge
Recovery in air is just backwards/forwards plus anything but dodge
Ground recover is a wakeup roll basically and is done with forward or back and dodge
You can dodge in the air
Impact blow costs an offense bar but by pressing dodge when a move that floats or knocks down the opponent hits, you prevent any sort of recovery from happening (bazoo has an evil corner combo with this)
