s.lk s.lk and s.lk s.hp can be interrupted by uppercut on block. let me just reiterate that. doesn’t matter how tight your link is or if you plink or not.
Picking up Rufus for the first time, I can’t get those two combo’s to work so far. For the first one, are the 3 hits supposed to chain because I can’t get them to link, and in the second one, it seems as if it should combo (it 2in1s) but it doesnt land. Is that counter hit only or something?
for the first one yes, the punches can be chained, or you can delay the last punch so that it combos into EX GT. For the second combo, either hold forward if the galactic tornado isnt connecting all its hits, or just practice the timing. The timing is almost identical to Ryu’s hard punch into hadouken.
i think s.lk s.lk cr.lk ex gt is better then cr .lk cr.lp cr. lp and seems easier, try that
i’ve been using that too, a lot easier and good damage.
Galactic Tornado in corner -> LP Snake Strike
Works on:
Cammy
Zangief
Balrog
Rufus
It does a little more damage than just lp GT. Its tougher to combo though. It seems like a one-frame link.
c.lk, c.lp, s.lp, fs.lp, c.mk, EX GT
Fei Long
Cammy
Gouken
Chun Li
M. Bison
c. Viper
Rufus
This is useful for when you’re chaining shorts/jabs and you want to finish it with some good damage, no one-frame links involved, and a knockdown. Plus it looks fancy lol. These characters have a wider stance with their front leg sticking out.
s.lk, s.lk, s.lk, fs.lp, c.mk, EX GT
Works on:
Fei Long
Cammy
Akuma
Gouken
Chun Li
Ryu
E. Honda
Ken
M. Bison
Sagat
Vega
C.Viper
Rufus
Dan
There are other ways to connect fs.lp, c.mk, EX GT against the other characters.
Its easier… but the main reasons for chaining light attacks into Ex GT are 1) getting an Ex GT off a crouch tech attempt or 2) getting an Ex GT off a low hit.
So, you need to learn how to do c.LK> c.LP> c.LP> Ex Tornado anyway.
dude i have had the hardest time linking lights together until i used juri but yeah have that is good to use since ull get a lot of damage in
Interesting…hitbox is smaller than I expected but the angle and priority is what makes it so effective I suppose
i haven’t had a chance to test this out on every char does anyone know if this works on every char
cr.lk cr.lp cr.lk st.lp cr.lp ex gt
so guys

how does this apply to Rufus st.lk -> s.hp link?
After seeing that vid, I tried Plinking hp~mp/lp and it seemed to worked a little bit better than hp~mp.
Didn’t work the double Plink.
I’ve checked Kindevu’s input and he’s doing classic Plink.
u also get a knockdown and safejump from light attacks
New to Rufus and I cannot for the life of me get c.:lk: > c.:lp: > c.:lp: ~ :d::df::r::2p: to work ever. I have no trouble with st.:lk:~cl.:hp: though. Any suggestions?
Two other combos that I have found that I do not know if were discussed are
j.:df::mk: > st.:lk: > st.:lk: ~(plink :mp:&:lp:) :d::df::r::2p:. It’s easy and kind of idiot proof. If either :mp: or :lp: connect the ex.GT does as well. It’s easier than the 1 frame link, but probably not as useful in the long run.
And
:uf:j::hp:> c.:mk: xx .:d::df::r::2k: ~:lk: FADC :r::d::df::2p:
As far as I have found, it only works on Honda to get all the hits of ex.SS but does 402 damage.
It works on Rufus and Balrog as well.
Don’t do the EX GT combo from s.lk, just take the time to learn s.lk, (s.lk), s.hp, hp GT. There is no reason to waste meter in that situation for less damage.
I can do cl.:lk: ~ cl.:hp: pretty consistently. My problem is doing anything into EX.GT.
Never, ever do this combo. This is what I meant. If you land s.lk, you never need to waste meter to do damage.
For the c.lk/c.lp into ex GT, you need to know that system mechanics of SF are such that you can’t cancel chained normals into special moves. Aka it should look more like c.lk, c.lp LINK c.lp EX GT. Should work on c.lk, c.lp, s.lp, c.mk, ex GT for characters that it works on nicely as well as learning how to link your c.lp instead of chaining it to get your ex GTs to combo.
