puff/anyone else, do you ever ultra zangief/balrog/vega if you land a tornado mid-screen? I know you can do it but the timing seems so tight as to be prohibitively difficult

changuillo, nice work updating the first post, just a minor thing, you might want to note that for some weird reason you can combo mp xx hp tornado on gen if, and only if, you dive kick first. don’t know how that works tbf

that st.LK > st.HK launcher combo (that I always forget he has) is easily hit confirmable off another st.LK, so off a dk I’ll do st.LK and if I see the red flash I’ll put the launcher in real quick and if I don’t I’ll go into a mix-up. I find if you whiff the st.HK it leaves you open to punish a wee bit

If I actually land it on any of them I try to do it. But I almost never Tornado against anyone of those. Balrog is the exception but I rarely Tornado him there.

is there an existing vid of this combo? you just do ultra immediately after tornado hits?

I’ve done it in training on zangief (tested it on balrog but couldn’t land it); the timing is REALLYY really tight, it feels like 1 frame but I may just be imagining it. I would never try it in a match bcs tbf rufus can land his ultra basically by looking at the other guy, so…

you buffer it just before the last hit and then when the opp. spins away hit PPP

I have something I noticed last night that I don’t know if anyone else is aware of:
Messiah Kick (MK/HK) goes over High Tigers. And the timing is pretty loose, too. I was able to just toss that shit out on demand. If you can see Sagat getting ready to throw it, Jesus Kick goes right over it and lands the kick. MK version goes over as well, but the timing isn’t as forgiving as HK. EX kinda scares me because of how close the TS has to be before you can go through it.

i’d advise against mk period. without extensions, it has the worst frame advantage, and on hit it doesn’t combo into the lk extension.

it’ll get you around, but the two above reasons have screwed me over i dunno how many times.

We’ve got two Cammy players here, and I’ve had to come to accept the fact that, for whatever reason, c.lk lp tornado dosen’t combo on her. It’s really frustrating. Is this just a Cammy specific thing?

So im trying to find out what to do when im jumping in at someone and there doing a focus attack.Mainly ill just block after my jump in but I have to believe there is a better option for me then that.

Also when im fighting El fuerte a lot of people do focus while your waking up and if i dont have ex meter am I just forced to block that as well?

you could just empty jump and then block (depending on how charged the FA is) or mash throw (again depending on the state of the FA at that point)

focus on wake-up: back dash is your friend or if it’s not properly meaty I just mash throw. if it is meaty and you have no meter just back dash, it has 8 frames of invunerability; I swear I’ve been whacked out of a backdash before (online)

more often than not I still get mesmerised when someone charges a focus and I just sit there and eat the hit lol

If you hit the dive kick low enough that you can normally combo standing fierce, it’s a great way to show them they shouldn’t do that, they’ll absorb the dive kick and then eat your fierce, fierce tornado every time. If I’m not at a good dive kicking angle I’ll just land and mash throw, they are usually trying to absorb your jump in attack so this will pretty much works every time too.

I have a general question for all. I know people probably change it up depending on the situation but IN GENERAL what is your go to combo AFTER dive kick lands? (cr. mk > HP TORN, HP > HP Torn, etc) I do cr. mk > HP Torn but I feel like not many people are doing it now and I’m wondering what’s the advantages of the others over cr. mk? (other than a bit more damage)

against like, rog if i want to mix in a low hit, i’ll do j.mk/rk(he blocks), c.mk->tornado

I always use s.lk to start. Isn’t it like +4 on block or something? Then its all about s.hp xx hp tornado.

The only time I use c.mk hp tornado is if they wiff lp dp or I don’t have enough time to get in to do cl.hp xx hp tornado.

Even then sometimes I walk forward. Go neutral. C.mk xx hp tornado and get c.mk xx hp snake strikes? Arg.

s. lk is +3 (which is still damn good). I’m a noob and am not consistent with the s. lk > s. HP link so I avoid it when I should work on it more. I just noticed today that you can go divekick > cr. MP > HP Torn which is kind of cool because I believe if you don’t link your cr. MP properly it will still catch them if they jump up right after the divekick. Better damage than cr. MK > HP Torn also

Edit: Apparently the cr. MP link from divekick doesn’t connect on anyone. I was playing onehandedterror just a little while ago and would wiff the cr. MP link. To be continued…
