^ Except for M&L Partners in Time. That game sucked. :\
Aw, some people don’t like the same things you do.
Mass Effect is the REAL DEAL, get that shit on the PC though. Game is so good, the story is good too, this game was a huge surprise to me on how good it was, and it’s only 19.99 too. And getting through the game just going through the missions is pretty quick, but doing all the assignments adds more. Games like Mass Effect and Fallout 3 you also want on the highest difficulties you can put it on.
Fallout 3, get that on PC.
JRPGs aren’t so great a genre anymore, the storytelling is bad, and drawn out. Plus the games themselves aren’t really challenging, you could practically just fall asleep while playing them. You’re better off reading some novel, which would be 20x better.
Yeah, Psychiccer is on some hax level stuff, from what I understand. What I find hilarious about Last Mission though is the fact that as soon as Tidus comes back, Yuna says “fuck off” to sphere hunting and dressing all crazy, and goes right back to sitting peacefully in Besaid fishing with Tidus…which pisses Rikku off.
because people have better taste in rpgs then u. and no i dont like ff7,
Should we make this the “official” RPG thread? LOL
Yes it so so of a title. you are better off getting the other rpgs on the 360. In regards to story it is pretty much the same with young teenagers whom parents are dead and lives with their grandfather and they are the only ones to save the world. I have it and I’m not bothering to finish it. I’ll get to it whenever
Great game but i couldnt stand how long it would take to level up. If by so chance if one don’t have the special silver slime weapon, one can forget defeating them.
who knows just by the main character walking around causing death and dont give a fuck adds points. Yuri with the white pimp hat is
Now one thing i want to say that one of the worst RPGs is the .dot/hack series (first series). Story was silly, graphically was horrendous and it was a waste of money.
worst rpg ever go’s to quest 64.
beyond the beyond
and ff9.
speaking of ff games those ff legend games for gameboy were good
Man, I had a blast with Quest64. That game was damn hard. Most people I know gave up in the first forest because of the spiders
Good call on the other games though, except FF9. Quina, Steiner and Vivi made that game playable for me.
FF9 was great.
i got borred of ff9. think cause there so many better rpgs at the time.
u want a great rpg for nes, mother fucking chronicles of radia war is a zelda clone rpg, and u get a cpu allie who walks around with u.
vandel hearts for psn is coming out soon, along with parasite eve 3 for psp
Someone mentioned .hack.
So I shall mention .hack//GU.
FUNNIEST COMMERCIAL RPG
Jesus fucking christ.
Fixed. There was a lot more to fix but I didn’t want to be here all night.
Dr. B actually looks at games for their merits.
Could not agree with you more. All you had to d was level up your Water for better healing, and just whack enemies to death. Every whack of your staff made it stronger, to the point where you could annihilate end game enemies with a single whack. Plus the story line sucked
I never really considered Zelda games to be RPGs. They are more Action / Adventure. If you say that you play the role of Link and save the world, then you could say that about any game. That would make SF2 a role playing game, cause you take the role of say a member of the Air Force who fights with Sonic Booms and Flash Kicks. Catch my drift?
Name 10 good Western RPGs. Take your time, I’ll be waiting (and probably for a long time)
Jap RPGs just have much more detailed story lines, and the story and the world you immerse yourself in are some of the main reasons why people play RPGs
Who cares about West vs East, they have their share of shit and good treasures.
I also want to mention Wild Arms 1 on PS. The games is great, but the almost makes the whole thing worth it. The music is beyond excellent.
For Lunar I, the original and the remake are different enough that I kind of like them enough as separate games. I don’t like a lot of the changes that were made to the remake, but I do like how they improved all the bosses’ AI to be more than “walk forward -> attack”, but the Sega CD version probably squeaks by as being better overall. Also, original music > remake music. Lunar II CD, though, is a lot better than the remake since they nerfed the difficulty like crazy and redesigned Zophar from awesome demon lord to weird alien circus freak.
Golden Sun 1 and 2
/thread
Amen.
Best part about Golden Sun was never the actual battles but story/puzzles/djinns.
the best part about golden sun was everything.
I made Quina eat SOO much in that game. And Vivi is just plain beastly all his own. I think that’s one of the only RPGs where I actually used a spellcaster for battle since he did so much damage as opposed to just keeping them for healing and wimpy jobs.
