RPGs that are worth playing

14 hours into mother 3

so far so good

Bumping this because Persona 4 discussion was going on earlier and this is relevant to P4:

The Escapist : Video Galleries : Extra Credits : Sexual Diversity

I didn’t finish Persona 4 because, unfortunately, the dungeon grinding becomes tedious and the initially AWESOME RP elements kinda fell by the wayside later in the game.

That said, Kanji was one of my favorite characters and Extra Credits touches on why so very well. Though I must admit, Atlus making it more subtle for the NA release is rather insulting to NA consumers.

And nobody start that “Japan accepts homosexuality more than we do” nonsense please, because any thoughtful study into Japan’s culture shows otherwise.

P4 failed me, its a scooby doo rpg

that said, P3 is still my all time favorite game

Majority of the JRPGs in the 90’s were amazing, too bad I don’t feel anywhere near close to today’s selection, especially the american RPGs. To me, they all seem like a bad cosplay experience due to shitty character designs and well, they suck.

Scooby Doo never had chicks’ corpses nailed to cross-like objects.

P4’s battle system>>>>>P3’s.

I loved all of the characters in P4 (no Kanji).

Yes, even the gat dam bear.

And Rise can has my soul - real talk.

As I see it.

P4tw

Lots of old computer rpgs are really good. Darklands for example still holds up and has never been equaled. You can find it on most abandonware sites.

A mod should have closed thread after this post =P.

I call it scooby doo cause its a group of kids and a (animal) doing detective work.
The battle system is easier cause you can control every character…then again you can do that in P3P. So it isnt better imo, made it easier kinda. I also like P3’s cast better…Aegis ALONE> P4’s cast

and P3/P3P has better music…except P4 does have Backside of the TV <–MY SHIT
