Do you play on Xbox? I’m in EC what about you?
Naw I play on the Psn I don’t have an xbox.
Sanford used to hate this team:
IMO
Row is the weakest of the top teams. Regarding order, i think starting mag is this teams best bet, mag building meter for cable and sent, however starting sent also has some benefits, being that if sent dies, cable/mag-a is better than cable/sent-a IMO.
the only reason i fucks with reverse row is to level up my sentinel and magneto. If you can play sent on team row well, your sent/cap will be godlike, and if you can play mag properly on row, your msp will become godlike.
also regarding the GB with cable and mag-a, it is unescapable if done correctly. Which is why row ALWAYS did it when it was available.
biggest liability on this team is cable. Magneto owns his soul, the only thing i can offer, is use scimitar liberally and if a magneto is happily trijumping on your head, call magneto-a FIRST, block the trijump, pushblock (pushes them into mag) and ahvb their ass.
My reverse row is ass though, i just mash stuff =D
Regarding which order to pick ROW in depending on your opponent. I would say as a spiral player, that I have a much easier time dealing with mags than sent. Good sent players just destroy me and my attempts to lock sentinel down. just food for thought.
this is true
- First off youre gonna have a hard time keeping Mags out if you have Cable on point and not Sent or Mags. Due to Cable’s lack of mobility and having Sent’s RP assist youre not gonna be able to keep Mags out simple as that. You need to switch from Cable to Mags or Sent on point so you can counter Mags rushdown with Cable anti-air. Thats the way to counter Mags with row.
- To execute Mags/Sent you have to time your lk with Sent’s RP so you can follow up with either a combo or ROM. As soon as the first lk hits, input the second lk+RP, which gives you the perfect window for the ROM. As far as the dash, simply eliminate this problem by making sure youre close enough to the opponent to where you can simply follow up with ROM. But this goes back to the timing of the lks and RP, if this is correct your dash should allow for the link.
- Im guessing youre in flight and Mags is on the ground and does hypergravxxtempest? Well obviously youre in normal fly mode, in which once you unfly youre in normal jump mode, you cant block in this jump state, thats too low…so never fly too low against Mags as he can ROM you instantly. In addition, if you happened to get caught by mistake again, mash buttons to get out of tempest.
Man… I totally disagree on the character order. I can play starting Magneto or Sentinel first, it doesn’t matter to me, I can rush and turtle with Row while still building decent meter and dealing decent damage. I’ve even seen Row, Sanford and Yipes start Sentinel more than Magneto and they’re all top players, you should really see how they use the team. I do agree with you on the landing the first hit though.
IMO, Cable is shit without 2 meters, even though he can dish out 50% with 1 meter… then what?
That unblockable actually works all the time for me. If they block Cable’s attack they’ll fall straight into Magneto’s attack (unblockable), get hit while getting hit by Cable’s grenade, which holds them and that’s more than enough time to land with Cable and do AHVB. So I don’t know how can that not work, I’ve seen Row and Yipes do it all day long their opponent couldn’t get out of it as you mentioned. It’s a solid guard-break.

No. I even picked a video where Yipes wins. But he barely wins and only because his opponent dropped every single combo. Let alone the tag in to save a character and cable AA missing half the time. Row is still OK, but starting sentinel first is almost always a worse choice than starting mags.
That logic is as faulty as “just don’t get hit by Magneto”. I could say Magneto is shit without landing a solid hit, even though he can dish out 75% without meter… then what (if you don’t get the hit)?
I’ll take your word for it. I suppose if it’s true then it’s another point for ROW.
For a second there, I thought at 5:39-5:42, I thought that shit was gonna connect. What ever happened to Josh Wigfall? He was so underrated IMO.
I still don’t see why you’re saying starting Sentinel is bad against Magneto, I mean, when I do get that matchup I don’t even bother attacking and if I do I’m doing a simple juf+lp+AA/Mag assist, lp xx FF–> lk, lk, dp.Rocket Punch, quick and easy FF combo. When I’m playing though I eat folks up with Cable’s AAA, especially Magneto and Storm when they’re trying to rush with tri-jumps.
The video that I mentioned in my previous post can be found on Zachdms’ site, I think it’s on Seasons Beatings III, it’s a matchup of Yipes vs. Sanford and both are using ROW.
Wigfall was underrated? I thought everyone knew he was a beast.
as far as sent v mags, i only ever feel like thats a bad matchup if sent has no AAA to back him up.
Cable as an anti air is good, but unlike cyke or cap he doesnt make things as easy for you so you really have to control the space in front and above you. cable wont stop people from rushing in, he gets them off of you yourself. so flying back+frying pan or the use of his kicks to keep a dashing in mags out is key. of course you gotta watch out for whorelocke if youre against MSP. also you have magneto with the EM assist.
I love zoning with sent, its really rewarding lol. Id play team row more if i had a godlike mags. sent with unfly is also alot of a tougher matchup for mags than without, since you can block the dashup sj lk
You got Xbox360?
I’ve never really knew anyone mention his name so that’s why I thought no one really knew about him, but he is a beast!
When have you ever seen Sentinel not with a AAA? Using Cyclops and Captain Commando is just godlike.
I understand what you’re saying but I never really had a problem using Cable’s AAA. It does stop people from rushing in on me, it knocks them up and more than enough time for me to hit them with a frying pan, I do it all the time. I use Magneto assist when I’m zoning from full-screen, pretty much the laser lock down with Magneto assist. I use Cable when they get close to me or just simple sj.lk FF–> lk, lk, dp.Rocket Punch or whatever. I ain’t saying I’m the best player in the world but I think I’m pretty decent.
I do but I don’t have it with me at the moment due to the fact that I’m in school in AL. Even if I did though I still wouldn’t be able to get online since there’s no WiFi here and I have shitty service on my phone (unless I’m outside), so I can’t even hotspot with 4G. Shitty ass AL.
I’ll try and get a video up of me playing on DC, just messing around with ROW.
Not doubting that you have some pretty big damage setups and that you know how to play. It’s more so there’s no real way to show “how to get around something” easily through words rather than through playing.
I know right… what team you run with?
I generally play 4 teams:
Matrix, Cable/Sentinel/Cyclops, MSS/P variants like ROW
i meant more along the lines of when its the last 2 characters XD
I see… I usually run Row, Matrix, MSS, Santhrax and Scrub (from most to least).
Oh I see… well I still haven’t had any problems with 2 characters, I just try and keep my distance most of the time. I’ve been told that I rush too much and I’m not patient.
What is your win loss ratio online?
Shit I dunno, haven’t played online in like 2yrs. I just recently picked it up again on DC.
