I am honestly convinced that Cole is a troll character.
I though so too at first, but turns out his awkward move set has lots of potential. Hes got a great fireball, some damn good traps and a great anti air that you can tag cancel into 350+damage combos. There’s more I could go into detail but It would take me a while :P.
Im in the middle of a rather big sfxt essay right now, and I think it will either prove to be an eye opener to all levels of players or an absolute pile of hogwash that is terribly wrong. Long story short, I am going to be preaching that it is not enough to merely craft your optimal 2 person team, but one must also play 2-3 other characters synergistic to your main team at a high level that you can sub into your main team if you encounter a team that heavily counters you. Essentially, the secondary characters are like a sideboard in a trading card game, you can alter your team with them between rounds to adapt to any situation. Playing 5 characters at a high level is a difficult undertaking, but I think the rewards outweigh the costs, at least in tournament play. I hope that many of you read it and give me your honest opinions.
Cole was my first main character. I agree with both of you: he has a lot of interesting and surprisingly good moves and things but in the end his 750 health and poor frames prevents him from really being usable at higher levels.
Nonetheless, he is just as much a character as anyone else for PS3 users and I welcome any discussion and knowledge on him. In addition to your larger guide, do you think you can write a shorter thing that gives Cole’s best tools in a nutshell and heavily focuses on what he can do to help his teammate and what kind of people he works best and worst with? My goal is to have one of those up for every character.

So, off-topic, but did anyone go to Mashup Monday last week like was being discussed earlier? I am wondering if it is today as well, but I think it is bi-weekly.
Sure man I would love to, It may take me a while tho. I may not be the most knowledgeable when it comes to gathering frame data or this game, but I have played my fair share of matches for Cole and Law. I will most likely contribute to both. I know what you mean about the health I always run Full defense gems or straight up life gem on point! anchor the possibilities open up :D.
Also the only unique command for Cole I can say is safe is actually a Foward heavy overhead that is not up in your face. I don’t know how you gather frame data but I have had Cole on replay for about 10 minutes while I tried to punish with 3 frame jabs and 2 frame supers, no punishment :). His slide is neutral on block I believe from max distance too, same goes for standing HK.
Well enough about this better get to finishing my first ever guide when I post it all criticism is welcome, would really like to improve it as much as I can.
I’m trying to get more American replays in these videos I put together… since I just got an Xbox not too long ago and I don’t know much of WHO to look for when in this game for American… as well as European. PS3 I already know who to look for, but for the Xbox I don’t. …was hoping ya’ll know any players to look for besides Jibbo… (which hopefully is in the works of getting some replays of him soon). I would appreciate it.
I’m just trying to balance it out… get more American/Europe reps then Japanese on there as well.

2 sets of exhibition matches (Euro & Americas to reduce likelihood of lag and deal with time differences, I’ll be pulling an all nighter so I’ll be able to take part in both)

Man, that sounds awesome. For PS3 players in usa, you should see if Darkphyre and Tatsu could join. Dark is great, and having someone like Tatsu in it would give mad street cred.
Im hyped for the patch of course but i cannot partake in it for some time. I’ll be without a PS3 all of august…

Cool idea! So what is the day exactly, since the US store (PSN) updates 31st of July and EU one day after (the update time is same, around 6-7pm UK time) So does this mean we are going to play 2.8? Btw, im pretty sure i can play against US guys too, not 100% sure though.
Thanks for the heads up Zuk, totally overlooked the fact that this was a paid update and not just a regular patch (patches are usually released the same time everywhere). so yeah I guess we’re doing this Wednesday instead lol I can play from store update till late on Weds so its all gud. shud be a hype evening. Trying not to double up in both groups too much but if you’re awake for the American times just stay in the chat and we’ll sort some matches out.
So just to clarify ALL matches to take place 1.8.12 (7pm - 2am GMT/ 1pm - 8pm EDT give or take an hr or two lol)

Sounds good to me. But if it could start at 11am GMT like in you mentioned in your previous post (11am on Thursday), we would have some time to practice on Wednesday evening/Thursday morning. US players will get their hands on chars on Tuesday, but im up for anything, just wanted to point that out
I feel you on the training time, but the earlier in the week we do it the better for me (selfish I know lol) because I go on holiday for a week on Friday so Thursday will be taken up getting my stuff together. Plus if us EU folks stick together (like in the original plan) we won’t get bodied by the Americans lol really glad you’re going to join us tho, looking forward to it.

I feel like if this thing is going to be put on youtube or something, it should probably take place a day or two after the patch hits. That way people could learn the new characters well enough. We do not want a repeat of cross assault.
