Rose vs M. Bison

While I can’t remember accurately, I feel like Rose is able to focus ATTACK lvl 1 that c.lk in the corner frame trap to CH the scissors. Would like to test, but my c.lk link ability is not up to my liking.

I’ve played pretty thoroughly one of the best Bisons in the West, and despite him being all best like, I had a few moments where I got a CH FA1. And in terms of the Bison/Rose match-up, I can’t imagine there being any time that would work except in the scissors trap. May test later.

but counterhit FA lvl1 is definitely not the most practical tool in the game… you’d best be blocking IMO.

Define “practical tool”. Any move is good depending on the circumstances. It’s not the “safest” option, but one of the better ones for breaking out. Hell, as Guile I’ve done mid-range neutral jump jab just to keep Seth from getting away from the corner because it’s fast, covert, and less risky than jumping forward.

And I call total bullshit on “you’d best be blocking”. Cuz when you’re in the corner, before doing damage, your main objective is to get out. Sometimes you have to fight to flight. If all you do is block, you’re submitting to the other player, and will probably take even more damage from throws. Using Focus is as much a defensive technique as it is offensive. In certain circumstances it’s my preference over blocking.

i meant when trapped by bison in the corner. in this precise circumstance, you’d best be blocking than trying a FA lvl1. trying it will make you eat that scissors 90% of the time.
and i almost never use lvl1 outside of wake-up pressure against non-shoto characters. i may be wrong though about the counterhit use, but my feeling is that it leaves you far too exposed for minimal damage.

I’m pretty sure FA1 can hit between each scissor hit if you start it early enough. and it can definitely beat scissors after absorbing c.lk. There are variations to the scissors trap. How Bison works it mostly depends on the spacing.

Edit: And the damage you can do from FA1 is actually good. Since it’ll crumple, you can follow it up with some more accommodating damage.

To plink on a pad, press the mp with the junction between the phalanxes and the lp with the tip of the thumb. If you keep the thumb at the right angle you’ll always press mp slightly before, it’s actually easier than doing it on a stick because you don’t have to synchronize two fingers.
