Rose Online Training Session

…YO im a gief player looking for rose match up help…im in the midwest area eny one down my psn name is mexgief
i would greatly aprec…

I’m going to be occupied again this entire weekend, so I can’t do an online session this week unfortunately. I’ve tried to contact my uncle about the 360 SSFIV version that he said he would purchase for me, but he hasn’t responded to my calls yet. It may be a bit longer before I’m able to do sessions on XBL. If anyone who frequently plays on XBL, wants to go ahead and set up their own training session, that’s perfectly fine. You can use this thread if needed. Until then, I apologize once again for the wait, and thank you to all for being patient.

GGs to Acku for the 3 games of yesterday

Sorry again but i had to go for some problems in my house, anyway those games were funny

Yes, good games. You always surprise me as you are probably the only strong Rose I ever get to play (except for one session with Luffy a year ago). I have to learn quick as most things you do I simply do not expect. For example I don’t ever use slide as anti-air, takes me ages to stop jumping at distances that slide can beat. It’s a great trick really, I need to remember this. There is no safe distance to jump on Rose, it seems.

I don’t play her often anymore (have been busy C+ ranking Cammy, Deejay, Hawk, Vega, Fei and Balrog) but I should, as long as I don’t pin her FADC’s down correctly I should train her.

Lets meet again.

Well I hope to make the next training session. Keep us posted sk. ta!

I will, of course :).

thank you  and sure, let’s meet again and have some fun

Yo, is sk on guardcrush?!

edit: Shoutouts to sk for a very nice set against MarlinPie. Good shit.

Yeah, that was me there. To be honest, I did not expect to do that well against MarlinPie…wow.

I heard the name sk, and I was like, “wait… rose sk?” then I heard, “this isn’t the cali sk, so let’s see what he’s got”

You definitely made a name for yourself, especially since that was your second tourney (?) Who else did you play?

I did? Everyone was calling my name and I could tell that I was being talked about on the stream. Yep, it was my second tournament, first Guard Crush tournament. I only used Rose, although it was dual-locked. I could have used Chun against MarlinPie’s Cammy, but I’m pretty confident that I would lose, because I barely use her. Skill level wise, she doesn’t match up well with my Rose. I’m really focused on just Rose right now. I don’t know if MarlinPie was just unfamilar with my playstyle with Rose, because from what I heard, a lot said that I was really aggressive up-close. After this tournament, I feel ever more compelled to continue on with the tournament scene, and continue to give it my all. In the process, I’m going to take the game even more seriously, meaning that I’ll be using Training Mode more, and analyzing more of my gameplay.

That’s what I loved about your Rose. It wasn’t Arturo. It was an actual exciting match. You were putting on pressure on their wakeup, and I was hyped for seeing something like that.

A lot of “pad Rose” was said, but it didn’t matter because you were beasting.

I’m glad that everyone on the stream really enjoyed watching the set. I’m a pad player, so I couldn’t really use a stick as well. I am thinking about purchasing a TE stick in the near future, because my 360 controller has a problem with keeping the batteries in place. That’s why at Guard Crush, I ended up borrowing someone’s pad. Once the stream is recorded and put up on Youtube, I’m definitely analyzing those matches with MarlinPie very carefully. I could tell that I was trying to attack during blockstrings (NO!), and I was a bit too reliant on slide and c.MP. The funny thing is, I experimented with mix-ups earlier in the day, and I just ended up using them. I have to stop with that.

I noticed you were throwing out fireballs, and he kept EX Spiral Arrowing through them. Though it only happened a couple of times, it let him get in and start pressuring you. You still handled it very very well.

Thanks, now I know why I shouldn’t be throwing out fireballs against Cammy in general, especially if she has meter. I definitely had a bit of tournament nerves playing against him. No matter how good of a player he is (I know because I see him play on streams and tournaments all the time, and he’s a great Cammy player no doubt), I continued to maintain the mentality “He is just an opponent…just because he’s a top player, you shouldn’t be intimidated.”

I wish I could have that mentality. I recently played against a very good cammy player by the name of Steinmania on XBL. I was still shocked it was actually him, that I was dropping stuff. I think you scared him a bit because he wasn’t really putting too much pressure on you. I’m off to bed, but once again; Very good stuff, you did a lot better than I thought you would.

It can be tough having that kind of mentality, but it really pays off. I think everyone should have that kind of mentality against any top player, no matter where you come from. Thanks once again, and good night :).

Bumping this thread up.

How many PSN players would be interested in a training session on Saturday? I figured after it’s been a few weeks since the last one, it would be good to have another one to see how we’re doing.

For those that play on XBL: Unfortunately I still can not make a session yet. Once I get the 360 copy, I’ll give a notice right away.

Hey Sk good matches on the srk live stream…I was on my friends account Coos1. Anywho I’m interested in doing this and could prolly host sessions on XBL. my gt: Nappa iz Hype

Thanks, interesting mirror match we had. You have a good Rose. I’ll add you to the list :).

Edit: If you could, that would be great for all the Rose players on XBL that need experience/training.
