ggs to everyone I played today. I’m pretty lost when it comes to the rose mirror still but I definitely appreciate the practice.
I’m on PSN right now running Bison. If anyone needs Bison practice I’ll be very happy to play tonight. My Rose isn’t very good, but I can offer some solid mirror practice as well.
The Rose mirror seems to be a lot about momentum, whoever has it gets to make the calls as far as offense goes. As soon as that goes well, you can turtle back a bit and wait for another opportunity to get back in. Whenever I decided to play too defensive the mixups got the best of me and I’d get counter-hit. From what I can tell, Cr. mp is crazy good in the matchup and even serves as a decent means of doing damage in counter hits as you spam it, drills occasionally hitting afterward. Particularly, spacing the drills and slides correctly was key in these matches. I just learned plinking yesterday but I couldn’t manage to pull it off at all in these matches for the 1 frame links. Good games all around.
yea it seems to me that rose’s ability to counter and punish rose far exceeds the capabilities of other mirrors/matchups. CR. mp has crazy priority and it leads to so many things, whether it be a drill or a throw etc. It’s definitely worlds apart from fighting any other character or maybe I just perceive it to be. There was one match in particular SK vs Lose Control that I thought was amazing, very smart and technical play on both sides. that’s a replay I’d like to see and study.

Indeed, it is. You want to be that person with the life lead, so you can control the flow of that round. Spacing is vital in this match as in any match, not only in order to keep your offense going, but to limit your opponent’s defensive options as well. With spacing, Rose becomes a much stronger character. If your opponent is in your face, consider doing blockstrings such that they make your Spirals safe for example, and to give you a bit of breathing room, if you can do so.
I hope I can make the sessions a weekly thing, perhaps PSN every Thursday or Friday and XBL every Friday or Saturday?

I won’t lol. Great time that you brought that up, I was thinking about that as well. Which characters do each of us personally struggle or need experience against? We get to decide where the Italian Gypsy will strike first…

I second that. Anyone on PSN, I know of a fantastic Blanka player named skrface. Very good player.
I’m in favor of lining up some good blankas, sims, and vegas. I have trouble with those three the most, I think.
I second those choices. I think Vega is most fun (with the challenge), but Blanka or Sim would be great too.
So in that case, let’s declare war on the Blanka forums first. Now we have to think of how to coordinate this. Perhaps we could use a Team Battle format?

Get experience on character match-ups by gathering players from all other character forums.
Its also good to watch people who main your character and understand the match-up better than you. I’ve practiced the Blanka match-up, but I would love to see what other tactics people use against him.

An endless room with 3 good blanka players, 2 good Rose players, and 3 other Rose players is good, imo. Then record quality matches so that people could watch.

hey yall, UYG (up your game) is willing to stream the match as long as its over night after 9PM EST and not a wednesday. We can do a 3v3 best 2 out of 3. Nemesys suggested that since ft5 will take over an hour. Ill suggest it to the blanka forums right now. It can either be on the xbox or ps3, i wont actually be able to play on xbox obviously but its whatever. i posted the thread in the blanka forums, so yall can go there and chit chat as well
Wahoo! Blanka practice! xD I kinda enjoy the fights with the green guy…obviously I really hate his mix-ups on KD…but its kinda fun in an annoying way hahaha xD Count with me for the training if I don´t have any issue to attend to xD
I´ll try to be tomorrow a lot of time to spar Legacy xD I really need a lot of training xD I´m still pretty novice in a lot of knowledge and sorts…I got 6 times ass kicked yesterday and lost a lot of points(which I don´t really care about xD) against great players cause I don´t understand how to break some defenses and I´m not that good on my strings and pokes xD…I really need the fights! xD
I’m going to be online tonight on PSN hopefully some people want to play, I need some advice on my Rose since I will be taking her into one of my first big tournaments this weekend
Sounds great! Hopefully we’ll be able to pull through with this. As for the videos from the last training session, I plan to have those up tonight, or tomorrow night at the latest.
