hi guys,
this is my first post in rose’s thread, … not sure if this is the right place to ask but i hope it is
first of all, i’m not a rose user, i main ryu (yes ryu, i know most people say its boring and so on so on especially mine suck big time 
… but i have the heart to improve 
)
just wanted to get an idea on how to fight a rose especially a good one, i don’t have good xp against rose and wanted to improve against one and nothing is better than to get the tip from the best rose users (which is you guys)
so here are some questions :
how to deal with rose’s slide
how to deal with rose’s soul thrust
how to deal with rose’s chain
what is the best way to fight a rose
oh i have to play one of the best rose player (nicknamed wild beautiful rose for his beautiful elegant style of play but its thorns are tearing you apart and makes you bleed slowly to death unless he gave you a mercy and you die quick)

The rest of the info is…well…just too mundane to even bother reading again. lol. Perhaps you should ask the person you’re scheduled to fight? I’m sure he’ll give you the info you seek.
actually i did ask in the ryu matchup thread but no one even reply or give me anything for like about 2 weeks now
and i did ask him but he won’t tell me, he will show me that is the problem means my ryu has to take the beating to his soul it hurts alot … after drake’s cammy did that double nut cracker on my ryu … i feel so helpless
but hey, rose is much more sexier than cammy and more mature for those who don’t know 
so any tips?
Well the problem (well problem for you anyway:bgrin:) is that Rose is really well equipped to deal with the shoto characters. You can’t really effectively spam FB’s at her because she can reflect/absorb them as well as slide under them and Ryu’s footsies usually get beat out by Rose’s poking. The one ace in the hole Ryu has is his c.mk. It can stop her c.mp pokes and honestly most of her other pokes, but it looses to her standing mk. So don’t abuse it or she will punish you.
Rose can be vulnerable to pressure and mix ups if you can get in on her. She has a pretty weak wake up game and she has really no reliable reversals out side of super and ultra. Her soul spiral is decently effective as a reversal but it will not bail her out of a pressure combo reliably. So your goal should be to try and close the distance and pester her with combo strings, tick throws and mix ups. If she doesn’t have ultra you have very little to fear in the way of reversals.
Ryu should not jump at Rose. She can do several things to punish you if you do. She can slide under you and throw you, she can c.hp you out of the air (Ryu has no effective aerial attack that can shut her c.hp down btw) she can soul throw you and ultra you. If you start a jumping attack be sure she can’t react to it like jumping over a FB or a neutral jump. However what can be effective to jump at her to bait her into wasting her ultra is jumping and if she goes for ultra you can EX tatsu in the air to stall your descent and you can punish her with a big combo when you land. But if she doesn’t take the bait you will surely eat the ultra on your way down so it’s probably not the best idea.
Her slide can really play havoc against Ryu as it lets her go under all of your FB’s (EX Super and Ultra) she can use it as a combo starter from just out of sweep range and she can evade your crossup attempts with it. The one thing you can do to discourage Rose form abusing the slide against you is to remember your focus attack they will shut her slide game down and make her hesitant to use it if she knows you are on the ball with your focus attacks.
That’s about all I can think of at this point. Just be careful and don’t under estimate her. Most players chuckle when I pick Rose at the character select screen they are then scratching their heads after the fight saying they had no idea she was capable of doing to them what I did :bgrin:

lol! It just sounded like a solid number to guess. That’s crazy. Well you already owe me one match since you kicked me out of your lobby in Championship Mode lol. I’m pretty bad in Rose mirrors also since it seems any of her footsies will beat each other. We can make it interesting by making it a FT7 Random Select.
Edit: or better yet, how about FT7 and you can pick whoever you want, but if you lose with that character, you can’t pick them anymore.
