I think maybe im just crazy but is the outer rim of a rollie clear wider than that of a seimitsu KN? Also is the insert size the same? Could existing inserts from seimitsu buttons be used or would they need to be re-cut?

Finally got a chance to put everything in my TE stick. Got to say I’m very please with the 30mm snap in rollies. However, it seems that the UILA LED PAD blue and Green solder points are switch. Not a big deal but people should be aware of it. I don’t know if it was just my batch of 8 but don’t want others to have to solder over again just because you want blue and get green and vice versa. Other than that great products.
thanks for bringing this up, the G and B were flipped as we went from a common cathode to a common anode, and I did not update the board. This will be noted in the new installation video we are working on… Mahalo

Rollie “OG” Stick *with custom modded Octogate
Hi, i ordered from you about a year and a half ago and noticed that you shipped from illinois about 30 minutes away from where i live, would it be possible for me to stop by a store front (if there is one) or idk to look at your products and/or cut shipping costs? this would be about 2 months from now though cause im currently out of state at school but i was just wondering for future reference
Ok I picked up one of the Rollie “OG” sticks. I know a few of you have asked questions, like mounting dept, size comparison, stuff like that. Being a tech/gear nerd myself, I was dying to get one to try out. Which of course leaded to me taking it apart to see what it was made of. Which in turn means that modding will follow.
Seeing that Rollie’s product are still a bit unknown to most of us, I decided to share my findings.
Here is what I found out about the Rollie “OG” Joystick
*Here you have a JLF, a Rollie OG, and a LS-32.

The mounting plates is closer to the LS-32 in size and bolt down pattern. At least for where the plate mounts to the box, but where the stick mounts to the plate, its looks closer to a LS-33 or LS-56. Now I’m guessing right now because I don’t have a LS-33 or LS-56 at the moment. When I get one I will update and let you know.
***Here you can see the gate styles.
The OG looks to have more of a LS-33 style adjustable gate.

***JLF next to the Rollie OG
The Rollie OG has just a bit more dept on the bottom but a short shaft on top. Much like the LS-32, S-Plate or shaft extender might be needed for mounting in Madcatz TE/SE sticks or Hori RAP type sticks.

Rollie OG Next to the LS-32
The LS-32 has just a bit more dept on the bottom but the shaft is about the same on top.

Here is the Rollie “OG” taken apart for parts comparison
The square gate is similar to the LS-33/LS-56
Here is is next to a Octogate for a LS-33/LS-56

I have modded this gate to work on the Rollie OG and it works just fine.
Here is the LS-56 & LS-33 for comparison

Preformance
The stick is well built and solid. The spring tension is somewhere between a JLF and a LS-32, but the throw is much shorter then either. Reminds me more of a more solid built version of the Neo Geo joystick in a AES pro stick with maybe a spring mod to give more tension. The switches are VERY “click’y”, so for those that like click’y this is a winner. I found the switches also to be very responsive and accurate. Now I’m more of a Octogate or Round gate guy so I modded a Octogate to fit the “OG”. It is preforming well with this mod as well. Regardless with or with out the gate mod it has a nice tight throw, and is defiantly a stick that everyone should give a try. It is quickly becoming a favorite stick of mine.
All in all, I was very pleased with the stick, and at a $15.95 price point (and it comes with a Bubbletop!) you really can’t go wrong.
If you guys have any question, just ask and I will do my best to answer them, when i get a chance.
I will also be doing a button comparison soon for those of you wondering about them.
I prefer LS-32s because they are tighter. If this is even tighter than that I may definitely want to give it a chance.

Just for information, not meant as a criticism…
You DON’T need shaft extenders for mounting an LS-32-01 in a Mad Catz TE or HRAP SA-type model joystick…
LS-32-01’s come with SS Mounting plates which position them CLOSER to the bottom of the faceplate and elevate the LS-32 shaft the few millimeters needed for more comfortable gameplay.
(I know of a vendor or two selling LS-32-01’s with flat plates but those are NOT the stock mounting plates the LS-32-01 should be shipped with. The majority of parts vendors are selling the -32-01 equipped with the proper default mounting plate which IS the SS Mounting Plate.)
Unless you buy an LS-32 (why you would for most joysticks is beyond me; a 5-pin harness joystick like the LS-32-01 is far easier to use than the vanilla LS-32), you should not be getting a flat mounting plate with the model of LS-32-01 most people swap out the JLF for.
The only time you should need to be an extension for the LS-32-01 is if you mount it in a 5-pin harness joystick like the HRAP 3 which doesn’t have a universal mount. Without modding your HRAP 3 faceplate or LS-32-01, there is no other way to install the LS-32-01 (or LS-40-01 for that matter) without using the LS-32-compatible Seimitsu flat plate. In that case, the only web vendor that I know of that sells an LS-32 extender is eTokki. You really have two choices for an extender, then… The LS-32 extender OR the black extender for JLF with shaft cover in case you have an LS-32 shaft covered by a modded JLF CD shaft cover.
SIDENOTE, Rollie specific –
Is there any chance of more colors being introduced for the Pearl buttons? One discouraging thing that I note in all the Pearl’s I’ve observed is the absence of a deeper red color and a dark grey/black shade.
I’m fine with most colors but frankly find the red shade (that Seimitsu uses in their out-of-print Pearls) to be a slightly dark pink than the “main pink”. It’s hardly what you would call a “true red” color!
A darker grey/black (where can notice the “pearl” effect) would be appreciated by other Pearl users/fanciers, too.
