If the OBSF-30 switches fit, then the smaller Seimitsu switches (PS-14-D according to Akihabarashop) will work as well, for anyone that prefers a Seimitsu feel. They’re the switches used in the older 30mm snap-in Seimitsus like the PS-14-P pearl series, and the current 24mm buttons, both screw-in and snap-in.

I’m THRILLED to see these. I just came here in search of some of the old Seimitsu skeleton snap-ins, since they were the last translucent buttons that could be swapped to a Sanwa switch. I figured I had no hopes of finding some in decent condition used, it completely makes my day to find these as an alternative.

Just ordered a Rollie joystick with battop and a couple Rollie buttons.
Shipped very fast, within 24hr, and i’ll offer my 2cents after it arrives on Tuesday

Anyway we can get two cents and pictures? It would be nice to see them side by side with the seimitsu PS-14-KNs.

Looks like I might have 24mm translucent pushbuttons. I will be receiving my samples in a few days. I will keep you posted.

Thanks,

Ponyboy

popped the new Rollie buttons in today. They feel like Seimitsu buttons, quieter than sanwa, im diggin them. and there is no issue with plexi tops, my buttons are sittin fine on my Plexi from Arts Hobbys.

does anyone know if a Rollie Joystick is compatable with a JLF wire harness, or im I gonna be soldering today?

can you take pics?

I did some quick testing, unfortunately we’re not able to swap plungers in from either Sanwa or Seimitsu… Sanwa’s are too short, and the inserts in both snap-in and screw-in Seimitsu’s are different, so they can’t be swapped either. Oh well, so much for my hybrid buttons… :stuck_out_tongue:

The switches in these feel like a softer version of a Seimitsu switch. There’s a definite point of activation, but it’s not as firm as the Seimitsu ones. You can easily swap in switches from 24mm Seimitsu’s (or older 30mm snap-in) or 30mm Sanwa’s to match your preference.

(edit)
Success! You can use the plunger caps from Seimitsu 30mm buttons, if you use the white insert from Rollie’s buttons. You’ll need to use an exacto knife or similar to remove the tabs that prevent it from spinning, as the insert isn’t as thick as Seimitsu uses, so it can cause the button to rock or depress unevenly. Just slot the switch into the white insert and stick the whole thing into the button at once. It’s maybe 1mm shorter than a normal plunger height, but activates both Sanwa and Seimitsu switches just fine. Scratch that, if you press at the VERY edge, it’s iffy on activating Sanwa switches 100%. If you’d like the plunger the normal height, just use a medium thickness doubled-sided tape between the plunger and insert, or something similar like a properly trimmed piece of plastic. This solves the iffy response on the edge of the button.

Tada, I now have pearl pink plungers with a translucent pink border, ready and waiting to be lit.
