Are you using negative edge to do the combo? What method are u guys using?
The hitstop from the cr.mk will mess up your timing a bit, so I would suggest just getting down the timing for cr.mk xx IA EX Stinger first. Just practice that for a few hours until you can do it on command. After that just practice getting the timing down for instant LP Roll xx HP attack, I find that double tapping Fierce helps the attack come out as fast as possible.
Once you have those parts down individually, just work on stringing them together until you’re getting the full combo down 80% of the time.
Thanks a lot for the advice! What method are u using to do the instant ex stinger though? Do u piano the buttons or use negative edge?
I double-tap the kick button depending on which stinger version I’m doing, instant stinger always comes out no problem. Also, a few things I need some input on. I feel like I’m going nuts.

Why am I seeing Rolento players doing multiple cr.lk’s into cr. mk? I know cr. lk can link into cr. mk, but cr. lk does not link into itself. What’s the deal?
-
I have also noticed players doing LP rekka at max range and not getting punished for it. Is it safe at max range or do people just not realize that its punishable?
My two questions are based on stuff I’ve seen from Nemo, Royal Mist, Shimauta, and other top Rolento players. What gives?

You definitely can link multiple cr.lk together, it’s pretty much his main BnB at this point
-
I don’t think it is punishable at max range my every character.
Is there a trick to do stinger from a focus that crumples without making the opponent pop out? I saw it a lot from wcw.
Crouch teching is the problem that im dealing with. I know if you have ultra you can os or frame trap u2 to stop it. I have not found a solid way to blow it up with rolento, has anyone found a solution to stop it? when causing pressure? Or should I just throw in different frame traps?
If they like to crouch tech with cr.lk then using MK overhead will blow it up most of the time, and you can get a free combo out of it if it’s a counterhit. If they like to crouch tech with jabs or medium/heavy normals, then you can either: IA Stinger, delay frame trap with st.hk or cl.hp, or do a “Gootecks shimmy” with cr.mk xx PC.
Man, I wish the pogo hop would come out even if you hold a diagonal direction. Because of it I’m having a hard time switching between SFxT and USF4 Rolento, its screwing with my muscle memory.
Just wondering if there’s any way to get wizard rolento.
I would say the 2014 challengers pack but there’s only one character I’m looking for.
I assumed they would make it purchasable by now but damn capcom doesn’t want my 4 dollars.
Tips against Sagats who end strings with lk tiger knee? I can’t really push any buttons. I’m guessing the only option is to backdash?
Quick question: best antiair against dudley jump hk?(the elbow)
MP and HK get beat clean.
I usually do alright in the fight till they figure out I can’t stop them from doing jump hk.
Are Rolento’s ultras any good at anti air?
I don’t have much experience as Rolento yet but jump back lp might work.
just Mp roll to get out of there or just good old jump LP.
Is there anything really specific I should look into while preparing for a tournament?
I have one in a little more than two weeks and I want to show my Rolento and rep him the whole tournament.
Is there any good specific mixups/setups I should look into?
Need to train anti-airing with Rolento more as well.
I’m sorry if this sounds a bit vague, but I just want to prepare as good as I can, and I know you fellow Mekong Delta people might know something I don’t!
Cheers
check out RyuApprentice channel on youtube.
use evernote, create a note for each character in the game.
write down:
all the moves you can punish with u2 for that char
whether EX PC to sweep connects, if any BnBs whiff
all safejump setups
whether you hold back or forward to go behind after forward throw, f.jump, pogo in corner.
(Obviously look at the notes before each match)
practice confirming off lights into bnb.
practice AAing with U2. Its a damn good AA. Once you build confidence and consistency with this then Rolento becomes very scary when stocked with U2.
taking notes, thanks Mekong Delta bros!
Dat shameless self promotion lol. But good shit on your Rolento tech vids, you actually had some stuff that I didn’t already know.
hahaa, I try bro.
