Yeah was a real good time. NC was blowin me up all day yesterday though got a little redemption in teams but we still lost… I’m glad you guys came out and all the naysayers should of come it was good.

GG;s yesterday Alex and Greg. Learning Viper tech is helpful. Playing Viper, was tiring.
Yeah man. Viper relies on her mix-ups since she isn’t a solid character without them. So once you learn the match-up, either the player has to be more creative or you gotta make mistakes for her to win. Here’s a good match between Latif and Valle. Valle knows the match really well and he exploits a couple tools (e.g. L.forward and wiggle DP) to force Latif to play differently. Everyone has them, but not enough people use them.
Was good fun. Glad I could help you out along with Alex in the match up, just a different sort of play style is needed for chun to win that match in my opinion.
Yeah after looking into the match up threads and whatnot, a lot of what we were discovering was being said. Her low Strong is randomly good, pressure, etc… Also picked up some OS which should help a ton.
Yeah knowing the OS’s to use against her make the match alot easier. I think me telling Alex about balrogs was a mistake but it will teach him not to fall for it as much. From what I’ve read OS’s are the reason why viper isn’t considered top tier because you can literally OS her to death.
Been trying to tell you guys for a million years that Viper isn’t broken. Learn the match-up and it becomes street fighter again.

I think she needed a nerf(10 DMG HERE AND THERE) to be on the level with all the other characters of the game in 2012… If they nerfed everyone and kept her the same again it would just be gay! also 3 in top 8 Evo! nuff said ><

Also, everyone see all the new MvC stuff? I’ll be terrible I’m sure, but it is hard not to be excited about these character videos. Iron Fist looks exactly like I imagined him to and Vergil… well he’s just a badass.
I still dont think she is broken but the damage nerf to ultra was kind of needed. The other ones I don’t think so.
It isn’t fair to include Flash as a viper main… He won all his matches with gief. She doesn’t dominate the Japanese tourney scene because A) They figured her out and B) The best vipers changed mains because of A. They should have just given buffs to the weaker cast. Let’s be honest, nerfing makes the game less fun and it isn’t the only answer to balance.
I agree, but only because they nerfed just about everyone’s come-back factor. Man, I want the damage from Vanilla back. The game felt like ST then.
I think the moral of the story is that people fear what they don’t understand and then they start to bitch and the nerf hammer comes. No one likes nerf’s to the characters they devote their time too but this is the new age of “balance”. Sadly this game has 36 entities to “balance” so that makes things a little difficult in comparsion to a game like Starcraft where you have 3 entities.
I’m happy with the new version and personally I do not think the changes to viper will really effect her performance as a character. Because if you think about it the people that play her well need really good execution to begin with and wrist strength. Whole lot of joystick action with that character. I like messing around with her in training mode but I will never play her in a match, to much work.
I agree with pretty much everything you said. I don’t care about the nerfs to viper specifically. I just don’t like their balance philosophy and it leaves a lot of players confused with their direction of the game.
Side note: Everett is going to be in cville tomorrow. So everyone show up to games. He’s pretty good at the old fighters so Jamal should bring set-up for GG if he can.
He doesn’t really play AE though does he? Just saw on the home page astaroth is SC5 so I’m definitely gonna pick that up.
He played in Super, but he never bought AE. He’s more into Marvel and the older fighters. He’s pretty good, so if anyone wants to level up in 3s, you should play him.
