Hawken and Tribes: Ascend are by far the best in the free games genre. Planetside is way over-hyped and an unplayable mess.

Dude, the game is actually halfway PLAYABLE now. Framerate dips to 25 on battles, but nothing too bad (with everything set to low).
Too bad the weapons take way too long to get in-game. To be honest, I don’t mind not having different weapons since the default ones are pretty decent in itself (except the need for a lock-on rocket launcher, since you can’t do crap against air vehicles) , and I’d rather put my credits on character enhancements than the weapons. So meeeeeeeh.
I might play Hawken, I was excited when I saw the first trailer, and it’s F2P, so nothing to lose except time.
I was playing Marvel last night, and realized on how WONKY Hawkeye’s gimlet is.
At one point, it was 5 seconds left, we both had no health, he had one meter and was about to chip me out with a gimlet, I was mashing something, put on Gold Armor, and I completely NULLIFIED the gimlet. I know there’s a few frames after putting on Gold Armor that Arthur is hittable, but I didn’t know there was invincibility frames or something that allowed me to dodge the gimlet.
And in another he kept firing gimlets while I was on the ground, and all I did was mash heavenly slash(DP+M), and I completely nullified it thanks to invincibility frames. So good.
I remember trying that out back when I was still on my Crysis kick. Game was buggy and crashed a ton.

I hear the game has some framerate issues so hopefully I’ll be able to sort those out. I hear the boss battles are pretty amazing! 
It was pretty easy all things considered. I beat the boss rush without knowing that you could get life pickups lol. Viper’s stage, music, and boss are the best in the game.
