Rochester, New York -- "That is a white ass menu..."

who is rochester tekken players?

Any body wanna play some marvel tonight?

Hmmm

This is what convinced me to watch the video. lololol

EDIT: holy hell this is amazing. Did you guys know she’s gonna post it on Facebook?

What the fuck? You think people leave body waste in your food, so you give it to your boyfriend?

Everyone except for Sinn and Steve went home for summer, so those are our Tekken players. I guess Quang plays, too, but I don’t know how serious he is.

I would, but sadly cannot. D:

I’d LIKE to do Marvel/fightan games, but I’m also kind of screwed on the whole “doing things” today.

But, if ya’ll want to go to Dunkin’ Donuts later out of reverse-spite, then hit up Mars, I’m down.

Give me a time and place and I’ll see if I can come down

ICEE>> Slush Puppie >> Coolata

Sadly there are no 7/11’s nearby here, so the god tier Slurpee is absent.

I got thinking and there could be a rotation system used for tournaments that can actually be used that takes advantage of the Xbone’s accounts. I’m a proponent of making games most easily available so while I still think PS4 will still be standard there could be a way Xbone has a benefit.

So say you wanted to play a game at a friend’s Xbone who wanted to play something he didn’t own yet, you can sign in your account at their Xbone so you don’t need to bring over your physical copy of the game and download it there. Now imagine for tournaments that are associated like the Evo qualifiers. If they set up multiple accounts that had the games on them (is silver membership still okay on Xbone?) and run the tournament, and then after they finish running the tournament they rotate the accounts to other tournaments so they have the games to run without having to pay for them. I could see the cost for TOs to buy the copies of the games going down because they would just be using the same accounts across multiple events, which of course means that this model will be more cost efficient if more tourney/stream organizations join in.

Though it would be a lot of work to organize and not step on each others toes with the rotation, especially if weeklies and monthlies are taken in account. Though of course the easiest route and the best would just to buy a PS4 and not deal with the DRM, but if there was an Xbone exclusive that was tourney viable I wonder if a tourney rotation system to save the cost on a game could prove beneficial if people work together. This is especially the case if games try to be F2P and make you buy characters piecemeal.

Also would someone give me a number on how many copies of a game do they use to run a major? How many setups are running at once?

In our case at a local level, I don’t think implementing this system would be cost effective, since once people go to weeklies and monthlies, we usually see the same faces and the games played are usually who feels like bringing what basis. I guess this sounds like something that needs to be scaled up since the cost of the initial console is so high.

Yeeeeehs!
New smash is shaping up to be magnitudes less ass than brawl!

Can we talk about Millia’s stupid crossup for a minute?

Cuz its stupid.

lol yeah she’s pretty fun

What specifically brought this up?

Looking forward to having Sinn, Dan, Yannick and Steve back in the smash family

How Potemkin is a huge, easy target that when she does her crossup-> launch combo that lets her go off on an insane air combo.

Holy shit Ducktales is getting remastered? Why am I just now learning about this?

lol yeah, but Potemkin’s fun too. What do you need, like, 2 combos to beat Millia? She needs, like, 4-5 on you.

Granted, those 4-5 combos are a hell of a lot easier to land for her than those 2 are for Potemkin. But, there’s always something so satisfying about seeing a high-damage Potemkin combo. Never have I seen/received a Potemkin combo and thought, “HE DOES WAY TOO MUCH DAMAGE!” I’m always thinking, “ha ha, you shouldn’t have gotten hit, chump!”

Good ol’ Shiri Tataki. Hilarious vid.

EDIT: damn it won’t start at the part I wanted. At 2 minutes 13 seconds is what I wanted, but the whole vid is pretty great.

Saw Man of Steel at Midnight , and hopefully people are happy to hear that it gets a thumbs up.

Pros :
It does not feel like Batman (Dark Knight Saga) Just with Superman instead. It seems chris nolan just bought his take on adding some realism to his story in some very believable ways.

The action sequences are amazing, the best of 2013 by far, and it will probably remain that way. The older superman movies could never show the bliss of the choas superman fighting a legit super villian. So your in for a treat.

Acting is legit across the board. (shout outs to a bunch of Battlestar Galatica characters in minor roles)

Cons :
The pacing is… odd , its not bad, but its definitely different. Doesn’t take away from the movie in the end, but it may annoy some.

No AFTER CREDIT SCENE , this is probably a subjective con… but hey its my mini review…deal with it.

Overall, probably the best live action rendition of superman we’ve ever seen, and arguable Zack Synders Best Film of his Career

Just got back from it, and I am going to echo many of your thoughts Dan.
The origins were handled very well as was most of the mythos. Honestly, Snyder and Nolan get props for even attempting to fit some of the BS that is DC “cannon” into their movie.

***Fight scenes were on some DBZ-level shit.

Casting was smooth overall. Only a few people had standout performances: Crowe and Costner come to mind. No one stood out like a sore thumb which is good. (Except for all the BSG alum, but that’s a story for another day. So Say We All.)

Overall pacing was akward at times but makes sense when you realize that there are only about 2 hours to work with and this is a hollywood blockbuster style film.

In summary MOS is a great popcorn flick and a good superhero film with some weight to it.

Now for more descriptive thoughts:

[details=Spoiler] I couldn’t watch a scene with the world engine without immediately thinking about Skrillex. It just kept dropping the beat, so I’m going to refer to it as the dubstep engine.

It was convenient that Metropolis was the backdrop of the last fight vs. Zod. That gave him and Supes SOOO many buildings to demolish during their fight in the most jaw dropping ways.

Hairy Supes looks just like Wolverine.

Obama to support rebels in Syria.

Instead of ranting about how fucking stupid this is. . .I’m just going to copy my reaction to this between myself and a work friend:

"cuz, you know, making Syrian civil war into a proxy battleground between Russia/Iran/Hezbollah and U.S./Israel/Saudi Arabia is absolutely the right way to go. . .cuz that’s gonna save so many lives lololololol. . .stupid shit politicians. . .not to mention that rebels have been found BY THE U.N. to not only ALSO have used chemical weapons against civilians and government forces BUT have also destroyed UN heritage sights and the like. . .ALSO the most powerful faction the FSA (Free Syria Army) are a bunch of extremist Sunnis that have been repressed under Assad’s regime. . .therefore SHOULD they win, they will turn Syria into an extremist Sunni state that will support Al-Qaeda and state-sponsored terrorism. . .it will also destabilize the region because these Sunnis will feed weapons to places like Tripoli in Lebanon and will provoke Hezbollah by cutting off arms coming through Iran to Lebanon. . .AND the U.S. was an ALLY of Assad and his regime! They supported his tyranny because he gave Syria stability. . .and now they just stab him in the back for a bunch of extremist fucks!?. . .that is some straight BULLSHIT "

EDIT: And let’s also not forget that America’s economy is still pretty fragile and that we NEED this goddamn money they’re blowing over there. And let’s also not forget that time, you know, when a rebel leader made a video where he cut out the heart of a dead/dying government soldier and bit into it all proud-like. Way to go, U.S… . .way to fucking go. . .

so there’s your geo-politics for the day.

Cheers.
