Shankar Tablada is shooting a documentary (working title) “Road to EVO 2010” in Southern California starting June 29th all the way through EVO 2010!
Remember when Daigo’s Ken parried Justin Wong’s Chun Li super in EVO 2004?? That’s right! He captured it all!
Coverage will include many aspects of today’s video game culture:
Player interviews, today’s Arcade/LAN competitive scene, everyday life of a top player, and much more!
Be a part of history as Shankar will shoot the hottest fighting game spots all over Southern California!
If you have any questions or want to be affiliated with this production, please PM me or show your support by posting in this thread!

“Inside EVOlution 2004” Documentary
awesome i love the scene and would love to help out in any means even if its just showing the poepl my support of drving 3+ hours everytime to any tournaments!!!
Riot of the Blood crew would definitely make for a great interview! Thanks for the support guys! I’ll post updates for interviews/venue schedules as I get them!
I’m not sure if you’re interested in the college/“younger” scenes, but in case you are, the players at UCLA will be more than willing to help out.
If there’s any other way I could be of help, please let us know.
UCLA players have a long history of respected players, and now its time to showcase the “younger” generation of today’s top players.
PM me with ideas for a gathering or (ok to film) locations to schedule.
Thanks for the support!
havent u seen my sweater??? im too west coast son!!
oh btw… u need to put some shine on the valley. i started out @ ffa in 2000 [cvs2/3s] and i kno that the valley has always had a fatty arcade following especially back during the peak of 3s madness and mvc2 and there are people still grinding and even new ones especially now with denjin arcade. so dont sleep on the porn capital.
I’m definitely down to be apart of this and the good people over at Alex Arcade and Fed Ex Fight Nights (shout outs to Wakasashe, Warahk, AndyOCR, The Butler, and Richard Nguyen) are probably down too. I’ll be running tourneys down at AA and FFN has always been a great all night casuals event for players of all levels.
Hey Alex, I wanna first commend you and the people you’re working with on this documentary, lately all of us in the community have been enjoying good chronicles about our scene. First Bang The Machine, and now Ian’s new documentary coming out. I’d definitely have to agree with Joe Dubbs when with all the other So Cal areas, the Valley really has a lot to offer as far as og players, and new blood like myself and others from Family Fun, Denjin arcade, and the Valley Domination sessions. I’m sure myself and Joe can speak for all of the Valley players when we say that we’d love to be a part of this and showcase our region of So Cal.
