I am a avid marvel player who just recently picked up super street fighter four after not having played the initial street fighter four game. I must say the difference between these two games is so great that I am having a huge deal of trouble achieving the level of play I generally can with marvel.
My question is, how can I surpass by current scrub level, and more importantly, how can I translate my skill in marvel to SSF4?
ps: I know that practice makes perfect, and train for around 20 minutes to an hour before going online.
pps: I am interested in learning how to play more unconventional characters, namely ibuki.
thanks guys (and gals?)
Practice. Lol. That’s what I’m doing to try to rise from a scrub. The mechanics of SSFIV and Marvel 2 seem completely different to me. It’s a different game really. Combos work differently than in Marvel. As for learning a character, the trials are excellent teaching tools for learning. Just play a lot. Luckily there is more variety of fighters that people choose from online, so it’s not like SFIV where you’ll be facing Ryu, Ken, Ken, Ken, Ken, Ken, Ryu, Ken, Sagat, Ken all the time lol. I’m no pro, but I would be down to play you. I have trouble facing Ibuki with my Boxer.
well marvel is faster then super sf4 so i would say use ur reaction skill for blocking/teching grabs and use ur link into special skills for super because i know its a bit harder to do the complex combos in marvel so try to apply that to your game. get a guide for a character you wanna play off of the guide section in the super streetfighter four sub tab in the forum section and you should be straight also while ur at it try to find someone to spar with you on the daily that has a mic so you can get some kind of input from them to help you get better and the last thing watch videos of that character so you can get a good idea of matchup and how to apply those links in a real match.
