I might be able to do the Ken trials. I did most of them, the only characters I know I finished though are Akuma/Ryu/Rufus. I think I’m 4/5 on hard with at least a half dozen characters (Dan, Gief, Ken, Gouken, Rog, Gen, and a couple others)…
And I might be going down to Renegade’s tournament, working shit out with the parents to see if I can take the car (it’s not mine, gotta be careful!) but if so I could supply rides for 2-3 people if you pitch in for gas.

if you have been reading up on TVs, you know that these are the worst. Though still if we have someone thats good at testing video lag then maybe its not bad at all.
They’re pretty bad i think. I think the TVs are pretty old too. So it’s probably even worse. I kinda get used to the delay after a while (which is good? bad?)

If you throw Guilty Gear on to one of those TVs I can tell you the lag to an accuracy of 1-2 frames (maybe)

IMO the lag is no worse than the TV’s at UMBC. Typical HD lag which people have played on in tournaments before this. Final Round didn’t have a lag free HDTV in sight but there were definitely TV’s that were “playable” and a random couple TV’s where you would hit left or right on the character select screen and count to half a second in your head before the cursor moved. That’s bad lag. The character select cursor on the X3O TV’s move around the same time as you press on the stick. So however bad these TV’s are…apparently there’s worse being used at tournaments (unless they didn’t have correct settings on the TV or something). Most HDTV’s do have some kind of lag but the lag is like a really good connection on Xbox Live. If it is there it’s pretty minimal and I can actually do stuff like close s.MP, c.MP, HJC Ultra with Viper that’s like impossible in bad lag.
I’m looking into purchasing an Evo monitor in the future since they’re lag free, look good and don’t take up much space. We could easily use these for tourneys in the future. If anyone wants to bring a regular CRT tv or an Evo quality monitor please feel free to do so. Other than that the TV’s are pretty playable and you would only really feel the lag if you played 3rd Strike or something on it. I’ve never been able to play PS2 3rd Strike on an HDTV without insane lag. I remember playing Guilty Gear on an HDTV and that was also pretty terrible.
Especially if you’re trying to play last generation games you should bring a CRT. I can call to see if they have any regular TV’s there. It’s possible that they don’t since HDTV’s are all the rage with the kids these days.
