Rio Hotel & Casino Tips **From A former Worker!

Thanks for the tips…!

Clubs near the Rio? Which one is popular?

Voodoo lounge is the club closest… since its inside… next to that would be… Poetry, PURE in Caesars is closest on strip next to Bellagios’ Bank, Caramel …If you go West away from the strip… you get Palms… Playboy Club, Rain, Moon, Ghostbar.

The popular poppin ones… are

XS at Encore.
Tryst at Wynn.
Rumjungle at Mandalay Bay.
PURE at Caesars.
TAO at Venetian.
Moon at Palms.

The smaller ones that are likable…

Body English @ Hard Rock
Jet @ Mirage
Drais @ Bills Gambling Hall

Avoid…

LAX. bartenders and hostess treat you like shit if you dont have a table. Dont feed the hype!

The mythical club you must try to get into is Foundation Room @ Mandalay Bay. love it. i believe its the best view in Vegas. The feeling geting in this club is like trying to get in to the Roxbury, gotta know someone who’s already a member to able to enter…

FLipFloP… randomn question… are you allowed to smoke hookah in the smoking rooms in the rio?

I’ll throw a bone out there but, i think you can smoke the hookah if the lamp is not filled with “you know what” . Housekeeping & Guests will find out, Security will be notified, and you will get your ass tossed out. As I said earlier, you can smoke the hookah, but you are going to have to stay on a smoking floor which will most likely be IT 4th or 13th or MT 4th,13th, or 30th.

sweet. thanks. and no, it will strictly be tobacco and not what ur thinking…

Hey does the rio have pc’s on the casino floor or near check in/ check out so you can post online on srk or print out your airplane return tickets? Tropicana had these kiosks at the check in area and random other places around the casino floor.

Any good spots for good sushi?

So theres no wireless internet, but will there be a jack so i can plug in my ethernet cable?

Also will there be fridges / microwaves? cause i plan on living on chicken / tuna sandwiches during the whole entire event lol.

This

I was going to bring my laptop with me but if there’s no wireless and no possibility of hard wiring for Internet use then I can leave it at home.

I called the Rio when I booked, and a rep told me they have wireless internet…but there will be a fee.

I’ll have to call again and see.

Yeah i think theres internet, but not wireless.

TC can u confirm / deny?

there are two computers, one next to the Ipanema Tower elevators, and one in the convention area on the way to Evo.

Oyshi Sushi on Rainbow & North of 215. Best All You Can Eat sushi hands down. Green Tea Tiramisu?! what?

There are fridges in all rooms.

There is only wired… but if you’re staying on the Top floor of the Ipanema tower 20th floor. there is wireless… but usually it’ll be the wired internet throughout the hotel.

PRO TIPIf you say at the end of your stay, that maybe your internet didnt work, they’ll happily take off the charge for you, so technically you stay for 2 nights, and said u tried to use the internet for 2 nights, but it still didnt work… they will take if off your bill

So the internet is already billed in the hotel fee…?

Thanks alot !

Maybe I missed it, but can I plug in a console into their TVs? Are they CRT or LCDs?

I know people posted that there is rca jacks for TVs, but is this 500% confirmed? I wanna do mvc2 money matches in hotel rooms but if no one has the coaxial plug for dc, its gonna suck.

And can anyone verify 500% how internet works/fees as well

no wireless internet at a hotel is the most ghetto shit i ave ever heard of

i called, internet is $10 for 24 hour period. Forgot to ask if its wireless or not. She didn’t know about the TV though,

I live in vegas, I stayed at the rio in july, I can confirm for 100 percent sure the room I stayed in had a 25-27 inch CRT TV with front rca inputs. I am not sure if all rooms are like that, but the room I was in had that setup.
