Man so hyped for this. It’ll be nice to take a break from Kens to taking on strings of GSPs online. The “ultimate fighting control” sounds intriguing.
“You’ll use the right stick to initiate grapples and follow up with different movements on the right stick to adjust your positioning and maneuver around your pinned enemy. The system offers a good amount of flexibility, although at the moment it takes some getting used to. You’ll perform the various adjustments and repositioning with circular motions on the right analog stick, which can be tricky to gauge. The stick also comes into play for countering, which, once initiated, requires you to quickly spin the stick around. Developer Yuke’s is trying some interesting things with the system that seem to have potential.”
Also Fight Night Round 4. Kid Dynamite Baby! They took out the parry’s from what I’ve read. That’s fine with me, I didn’t even use that feature, just footwork and bob and weave counters. I am not proud to admit but I rage quitted on one of the live matches in FN Rd. 3, man those guys on there are insane. I fought a B-Hop(Bernard Hopkins) online and he was moving speeds that I didn’t think possible in that game, needless to say I pussed out. Man that was rough. So lag’s obviously not a problem. Wonder if Mayweather’s gonna be in.
WTF, my word catched on? I’ve been using flurk as a general word kinda like “smurf” for the smurfs or as a swear for like the longest time, spreading it to my small group of friends… It became a popular in-joke. Did it spread onto the internet, or do I know you? Or is this some crazy coincidence? Is it an actual word in some country or something? :looney:
Apparently there’s also going to be tiers for Undisputed. That’s a pretty fat roster and some of the guys could change weight classes too. Hopefully turns out at least decent, and everyone has their actual stance instead of being just southpaw.
True that… It used to be so good
Hm, if I was watching Simpsons before I started using that word I’d think I had gotten it subcounsiously… But I did not, so it’s just a coincidence I guess.
Anyway, better be a bit on topic too… Are games like this anything like traditional 3d fighting games? I’ve honestly never tried one, but I do like trying out all the fighters I can get my hands on… Maybe I should look into it.
Graphics seems pretty nifty.
I honestly don’t think this game will be that great, just like with boxing games. A lot of this sport comes from natural reaction and its hard/ impossible to capture that in a game. And also when someone is rated higher than another person its almost impossible to win.
MMA games like this are usually a lot easier to sidestep and pacing is alot different because there aren’t any projectile attacks and srks to spam. If you can, check out the UFC game for Dreamcast, it’s one of the best and the Pride FC (not 2003 Grand Prix) game for PS2. Combos aren’t as complex as SF, but if they do this game right it’s gonna be pretty damn complicated.
Really you didn’t like the Fight Nights? Man they were some of the best boxing games, I’m glad that they got rid of the parries because who the fuck could swat Iron Mike’s punches aside like so many flies? But yeah FN RD. 4 has a better chance at being a good game vs. UFC because there’s too much stuff to cover for MMA that can’t possibly be done with due to the limitations of the controllers but the Ultimate Fighting Control could possibly be a step in the right direction.
