Richmond SF4 players

Ready for zangief arpe??

I gotta head up to richmond someday so I can get some matchup thoughts and training from you.

xbox live doesnt cut it

I hadn’t really thought about holding ub for the headbutt. I’ll have to see if that works better, however my problem is more the timing than the actual inputs.

I can not get Balrog’s hard trial 4. EX Dash Upper xx c.lk xx FP headbutt is retarded impossible. I’m sure Moose does it in his sleep.

SF IV quickly taught me that I’ve been playing fighters wrong my whole life. I mash too much, not to say that “I don’t know what I’m doing” but more like “I just need this move to come out, so I’m gonna mash it” especially in combos/reversals. SF IV doesn’t allow that, it has STRICT timing and not only do I have to get used to the timing of this new game, but I have to unlearn how I’ve been playing fighting games literally, forever, add that to the fact that I now have a decent stick which I’m not as good with, and yeah…I need a lot of help.

Compared to Moose and Robin, I’m a complete scrub, but compared to the rest of you all, well, you’ll see. Thing is, learning how to play correctly isn’t as easy as “just have better execution/reaction time” which often is the advice good players give. I don’t know how to improve that. I’m not the kind of person who can go into practice mode, or challenge mode, fail literally 50 times in a row and continue to want to play. You guys may question why I’m bringing this up/perhaps get a bad first impression of me from reading this, but I KNOW it’s going to come up later so I want to get it out of the way now. When you guys meet me I know we’ll get along. Charles, Brandon and Corey know me anyway.

And Robin, it’s been a really long time since I played you. I have improved a lot since then, still I doubt that I could beat you.

I guess I’ll bring my stick since eventually I’m gonna have to use it. My execution is literally worse on stick than pad though, so I’m always discouraged to use it.

Tornadoflame is holding me back.

Wow were going to have so many balrog players in Va this is gonna be great. Its gonna be like Star Wars episode two running the world except everyone will be Gorlab’s wearing Apollo Creed outfits. I agree SupaPanda. I want my shot at Gootecks. I wanna be the best Balrog in the USA. Granted I have a far way to go, but Gootecks wasn’t always the best…Just takes a couple of ass whoopins and leveling up and in no time I will be bringing fight money home to RVA and open up A GORLAB BOXING GYM LMFAO

What’s sad is i can do the last half of the combo, but for some damn reason i cant do a simple c.jab, c.jab, EX Rush Upper…it’s like my mind is fucking with me or it’s retardedly hard.

Billy is there any sort of parking/entry into the building shenanigans where you live?

WERD! Shit I’m down for this thursday and the next.
I feel like right now
Update: Hoping to get a call from TJ Maxx to work as a back room coordinator.
and waitin on a appointment from a temp agency, other than that…I STILL aint got my damn tax check but umma lookin into it.

:amazed:The dead has awakened from his eternal slumber.

Wassup bruh? Hows back wheel drive doin for ya?

IIRC it’s a one (might be two, don’t really remember) frame window. The only way to get it down consistently is to literally sit in practice mode and do it over and over until it commits to muscle memory. You can try finding audio or visual cues to help you time it correctly. I personally broke up that trial into two parts, practice the EX upper to c.lp link alone for a while, and after that came out, the rest of the combo was a breeze.

Don’t remind me of that weekend:crybaby: Just popped in to say high, I’ll start practicing SF4 and will main Guile, as always playing the shittiest character:woot:

Yo I’m not heading out tonight. I’ve played so much SF4 today already. I’m going to the bar. But thedrizzle is going over there now. So you guy have fun, sorry I chumped out but my eyes feel like they’re melting.

Dan, that is how you beat my abel… and every abel lol. But seriously, that cracked me up.

ggs to everyone tonight…i think we all learned alot…i know i did…NO MORE UNNECESSARY HEADBUTTS WITH BALROG!!!..i really think that we got a good scene here and i cant wait to do more…

GG’s to everyone tonight. Now i just need to find one character to main and stop playing everyone else.

GG’s guys…Random balrog headbutts are going to be the death of me. I been fighting Moose and more worried about overheads and getting hit by the one jab that combos into PAAAINNNN!! that I’m not expecting that stuff. Hopefully I’ll get better and stand on better ground the next time you see me.

Edit:

speaking of which I didn’t even get a chance to go up against you Robin. 'Gief would probably take me to his homeland but I would have liked the practice.

Wow, Billy, your place has the best possible setup for gaming, like damn.

It was great being able to play SF IV with REAL PEOPLE I’m looking forward to doing this again.

Drizzle: I’ll have to hit you up sometime, right now you’re the 2nd best Rog in RVA, don’t stop random heabutts so soon, cause I need someone to continually teach me not to randomly jump, lol. Seriously though, playing tonight taught me that it’s gonna be mandatory for everyone who plays SF IV to know how to deal with Balrog, he’s too good.

Dan: You’re cool, glad I finally met you I was only mad about losing to Rose because I don’t know the reversal timing of this game. I don’t know the meaty timing either, two very important things and I just haven’t gotten used to them. Play Gouken btw, you’re good with him and nobody esle is gonna use him.

Diman: I’d like to play you again, you’re pretty solid, right now it looks like your only problem is ducking too much. Thanks for coming out, it was good to meet you.

Brandon/Charles: I’ll have to play with you all as well, I think we could all improve from playing each other.

Marvin: You play a lot like I used to, you’ll learn that being patient is important in this game, look for openings, don’t just try to rush your opponent, especially if it isn’t working. You’ll get better once you own the game tho for real. I wouldn’t drop Fei Long just cause he sucks, personally, I’m all about sucky characters, it just takes more work to make them good.

Billy/Robin: Fuck y’all and your skills. No but seriously, that Gorlab is too sexy and we can all learn a lot just from watching you play. Zangief is just homo tho..

Corey: WTF man?

NeoSeifer: I thought you were coming out to this? Someone shoulda checked up with you beforehand, you shoulda come out man.

Right now my biggest problem is stick execution. I can’t be randomly jumping/ducking and I gotta be able to pull off those charge ultras which for some reason I can’t do on stick. My second biggest problem is not being used to wakeup timing to do meatys/reversals. Does everyone take a different amout of time to wakeup in this game like in 3s or is it the same for everyone?

All I gotta say is the first richmond team tourney goes to team Moose 1-0 to Team Robin 0-1. Learning how to play gief fighter is too much fun

Yeah sorry guys, I’m glad it turned out well though.

I didn’t even make it to the bar I said I was going too. After Chris left I laid on the couch and the next thing I know its 9:30 in the morning and I had to run to class. I was up almost the whole night before working on the presentation I had earlier yesterday. I was exhausteddddd.

Next time, I’m going to make it. Are we doing it again on sunday? I know Chris said he would host but I think you told me before you left that you actually have to work? Moose could you do it again? Or is thursday night kinda the only times you’re able too.

Just lol
