there’s so much trolling done by ppl in VA that i refuse to be denied discussing Tekken “b/c this is SRK”…btw, SRK and TZ were started by the same people Wiz used to be a main mod on TZ back in the day, so i don’t want to hear it.
RVA having their own thread is mandatory @ this point of they want to try and have gatherings. for one, if you combine every post made by a player from RVA in the last thread it would hardly take up 2 pages…while in turn, every post made by any one of the trolls would = more space than most threads in this section not belonging to NY or VA. sifting through that much bullshit to find where another member of your part of the state once said “hey, anyone in RVA gaming?” is dumb. i realize the only reason the VA threads get trolled so hard is b/c @ least 3 members of the site who post in there literally have nothing better to do while @ work or wherever, but that doesn’t change the fact that these threads are still supposed to be productive from time to time.

people from RVA don’t answer PMs, and i don’t stay up late enough to talk to Spectre on AIM. TF doesn’t answer txt messages, and usually doesn’t reply to AIM messages or emails. sent Robin a PM on here a couple days ago, and haven’t gotten a reply yet.
Well, Trolling doesn’t stop anyone from getting productive… We handle almost all get togethers in that thread, and we have more then one a week, sometimes more then 2… there has been a few times i have had a place to game 5 days stright, so the fact that you can’t get anything done with people trolling is just dumb…

Everyone who has posted in this thread from RVA ALSO posted in the main VA thread, but most of them made between 1 and 5 posts MAXIMUM because that thread gets 3 pages of nothingness daily. In short, people are too lazy to look at anything other than the current page and the new players from RVA, or even the old ones like Moose who make 1 post out of the 100 that get made in a day get completely washed out.
Look what happened here, this thread got made and it got 4 pages of replies in 2 days, including ones from people who WEREN’T posting in the other thread like drizzle, soarer, Moose, Se7in, Rioting Soul and NeoSeifer.
Now BECAUSE OF THIS THREAD gatherings are gonna happen in Richmond. Corey’s having people over, Moose is having people over, Drizzle is gonna start orgainzing/hosting, and we ain’t even met him yet. Gamma is bringing people from Chester, Charles and Brandon are coming out. None of that would’ve happened without this thread. Period.
This thread served it’s purpose, but I think we need to keep it around a little bit longer before we tell everyone just just jump back into the VA thread because stuff like this got posted in that thread by the same people and got completely ignored.
SOVA gets shit organized in that other thread, but that’s because 80% of the people posting in it are from SOVA and now there’s established gaming going on there, Richmond needed this to happen to get the same thing started here. I don’t want this thread to last forever, but for the time being it’s only helping the community.
Re: Anthony, ok that’s cool, but when you were helping me out with 3s I wish you would’ve been a little clearer about it, that’s all because I don’t remember anything you ever said during our sessions being obviously intended as a teaching aid.
BTW everybody, I have hardly played SF IV at all, this means I’m gonna need A LOT of help with it, and it also means I shouldn’t beat you so stay sharp!
I play Tekken, but DR is dead and as you know VCC no longer has it, I don’t think there’s a cab in RVA anymore. Hit me up in October when BR comes out.
I agree with this somewhat. But the other VA thread does get really swamped down a lot. I mean there is a separate roanoke/blacksburg thread. Maybe if you update the first post with the main details of gatherings/tournies from other threads. It’s hard to join in on conversations with people when you don’t really know them/never met them/don’t understand inside jokes. I was thinking about this situation the other day and how I have so many conversation’s going right now with different people on these forums that if there weren’t multiple threads I would probably lose the conversation in a sea of posts from people who are having just as many conversations as I am.
And the only other reason the V3 thread is still alive is because they’ve turned it into a game .

All this makes sense. Even though it looks like your attacking TF haha. He has a solid point about this thread going up and the amount of gatherings that have spawned from it. This is, indeed, an extremely positive thing for the RVA scene, especially since we’ll have +1 member this summer when my friend from Blacksburg moves up here. Or if my room mate ever bothers to try and learn a fighting game. I can’t ever really make it or want to drive to SOVA ranbats and what not because I have a lot of school work to do that I’m usually swamped, not that I don’t want to go to them. So having a thread to organize things like that here where everything is 5 minutes from me works really well.
SF4 is easy, it’s also easy to beat scrubs in. So if you aren’t very good it will be apparent.

Would love to rep RVA with SF4. In fact, thats the only game I really want to play competitively. I mean these get togethers don’t have to just be about games. Hell had beer, pizza, games and mexican women working at an itallian pub in nova. That was CRAZY! But yes everyone I do have a full time job and about to have a kid, so i can commit to probably being able to do this at least 2 times a month…hopefully once a week. But yes Gorlabs!!!

on the topic of multiple threads, it is true most of the post in the other VA threads were by SOVA people and i only looked at the last page. i think there is nothing wrong with a richmond only thread, it should help our scene move forward.
