Richmond SF4 players

ggs tonight.

TF you still scrubby.

Just a reminder

BFD weekend. Sorry brah. Got friends coming in town and staying at my house.

Edit: I am free tonight if anyone wants to play Blazblue. Maybe I can bring a setup to strange matter? Post up opinions.

Yeah, the graphics do look kind of icky since it’s an arcade game from back in 2004, but it is seriously fun as hell.

Other than fun. What are the specifics? Like how do the combos, gauges, etc work. Is there some game you can relate it too? Or is it just simply fun?

I don’t really think that there is anything that I can compare it to. I guess I could say it’s like King of Fighters with the 3v3 thing, but it’s got assists as well.

Your button set up is your traditional ABCD setup where ABC are your light, medium, and heavy attacks, and D does an attack that can’t be clashed against (more on that later). A+B, B+C, and C+D let you use your assists/items.

You choose a couple of characters and items (while on the arcade version you can really mix shit up on the character select screen, it seems like you can only choose either 3 characters and an item or a character and 3 items on the PSN port :<).

Items have two different kinds of actions (used by just hitting the item buttons, or doing :qcf: and the item buttons) as well as passive bonuses for a certain character (it’s easy to figure out which item goes with which character).

You’ve got a super meter at the bottom divided into thirds. Supers, assists, and :qcf:+item (I think) take one third of meter each.

It’s got a clash system that’s pretty different from other games. As long as any attacks collide with each other, they’ll clash. Backdashes clash on start up and running can clash at any time. IIRC, runs and backdashes can clash with each other, but I’m not sure on that one. D attacks don’t clash with anything (not to be confused with outprioritizing everything).

I might be missing some details, but I’d say that’s the gist of the game. You could learn more from the thread in FGD.

meh.

It was my opinion!

Dear factory9,

Thanks for trying to generate interest in this game. However, the opinion of this person is that of meh. That the game is meh, your 15 minutes explanation is meh, leaving me at an immediate opinion/state of mind/only response of meh.

Sincerely,

Stay Free, Anthony.

I saw that game at Xanadu.

It was indeed, meh. Looked like a SNES game, Weaponlord.

Did you know he actually showed up last night with 4 other old kids? Craziness. That was so awesome. Wish fighting games thursday night lasted longer. We got to get our own night started somewhere. Getting blasted and playing games is too good.

Preach.

it seems there’s a pattern with factory9 and shitty fighting games. just saying.

Have you guys heard of this game called Battle Fantasia!?

Haha, I had Battle Fantasia out a few meets during the spring. Unfortunately, the only ones who were there were Sean and Dave.

Anyway I’m coming back into the area this Friday. I’m also thinking of getting a moderately cheap but portable sub $200 TV/Monitor to aid in portable set-ups from here on. Right now I’m looking at either

Amazon.com: Vizio 19" Class 720p 60Hz LED LCD HDTV (M190VA): Electronics This
Amazon.com: ASUS VH198T 19-Inch Widescreen LED Monitor: Computer &? or this.

Trying to take input lag and crap into account, but eh. LED is nice cause it’s lighter (apparently). Monitor would be nice but would be limited to just systems with HDMI outs. TV would be nice and universal but few reviews on that.

But yeah. If I can get feedback, I’ll hopefully get something and start bringing them to meets. Also itching to try that apparent free year of Amazon Prime~

That ASUS monitor doesn’t have HDMI in, so you would need a HDMI to DVI converter and then a way to send sound to a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Vizio looks pretty good. I don’t have any noticable lag on my Vizio TV, but I have no idea about input lag on that particular model. The monitor also has no S-Video input (I use it for non-VGA compatible Dreamcast games) and doesn’t tilt up/down on its stand. Vizio also sells another 19" TV model which alleviates the S-Video and monitor tilt issue and is in your price range, but it isn’t eligible for Amazon Prime shipping. You should probably ask around the Tech Talk forums for more info about it.

P.S. How did you get a free year of Amazon Prime? I only got a free month.

vizio is walmart trash. ALL of them.

Thank you for your insightful and informative opinion, Perry.
