EDIT: Don’t get me wrong… a MTG stream is pretty anti hype and extra boring if your not up on the current standard environment but if we could take our Local FG tournaments to this level it would be so gdlk.
That was a quality stream. How much does the equipment cost used? I still think they should get a cheap and portable P.A. as the next tournament expense!
I would say that setup was worth easily over 10k. There were Sony HD camcorders and monitors everywhere and it was setup in a way that the commentators were on the opposite end of the room as the stream match so the players couldn’t hear them.

How many camera did they have? Im guessing for an event like that, there would be more cameras needed than at a fighting game tournament.
They had 2 salty cams for each player, a camera on a crane type things that faced straight down on the table for the game, a camera for the commentators and a camera pointed at the crowd. The commentators also had this large monitor behind their camera that displayed the video feed from the crane camera so they could see the cards on the table and in the players hands even though they were all the way across the room. The tech guy had two laptops and was managing which cameras were on the stream and the other had stuff like the players names and life count he kept updating. That guy was mad busy the whole time.

this is a serious post? This makes my head hurt… c3 tourneys notoriously started late and ran even later. Not that they sucked or disappointed, but I don’t see how they were in any way shape or form better than vtymes…

LOC! Long time no see, duder. You probably dont remember me, but I used to play Tekken at Patrick Henry mall and Putt putt. Anyways, general consensus around these parts is that the Norfolk tourney is going to be a bit of a cluster fuck, from the talk of venue size to the laggy t.v’s. Do you think this is worth traveling for?

Might be because of cellphones. SRK isn’t too friendly with my mobile browser but it is workable.
