When using EX Red Focus (cancelling with Red Focus), level 1 will already result in a crumple. It’s used pretty much as an attack to crumple and extend combos. Unlike regular focus, there’s no reason to dash cancel it (hence no one calls it RFADC) because you’re looking for the level 1 crumple to extend.
Just so rzalph isn’t confused, you’ll still probably want to dash while the Red Focus is in animation so you combo afterwards. It’s not a dash cancel, you’re just inputting the dash so it comes out right after Red Focus.
You don’t “red focus attack dash cancel” that would be a waste of an extra meter. You use a regular “Focus Attack Dash Cancel” by preforming a focus attack at the point where a combo would normally end (like ryu’s Hard Punch into fireball) then you use a dash to stop the focus attack from coming out so you can continue the combo because you are now free to act and they are still in hit stun. With a “Red Focus Cancel” you don’t dash cancel the Focus because you want it to come out and hit because you will get an automatic crumple. Once it hits then you dash cancel the recovery frames of the focus attack the same way as if you did a regular focus attack outside a combo.
Raw Red Focus costs 2 bars.
EX Red Focus (Red Focus cancelled from a move) costs 3 bars.
Raw Red Focus crumples the same way regular Focus does.
EX Red Focus crumples on all levels.
Raw Red Focus can absorb an infinite amount of hits.
EX Red Focus cannot.
Red FADC (not to be confused with EX RF) is useless, so use regular FADC instead. RFADC would waste an extra meter for nothing.
I’m new to Ultra… So after reading this short thread I understand what a red FA is but my simple question is how do you do it?? as opposed to a normal FADC
