Why doesn’t somebody just ask the guy VIA Ebay HOW he revives dead carts. Or someone with a dead cart and spare 150 have at it.
Oh and if this turns out to be true, someone sell me a “dead” 3s Kit for super cheap right now!

It’s definitly possible. If he got a hold of the machine then he is one lucky guy.
went by capcom last night to try my luck… dumpster was completely empty.
I doubt highly he got ahold of an official capcom board; it makes much more sense that he figured out how to do it on it.
Here’s the main question I have; if what he says is true, then wouldn’t it make sense that he could put whatever keys he wanted on the cart? That’d turn any CPS-3 board with enough ram into a machine that would play any CPS-3 game just by reprogramming the cart when you want to switch games. We already know legit carts and boards can used burned CD’s without a problem, as long as it matches the security card being used.

Does that mean that he brings dead carts back as ASIA carts with english text? Or does it mean he brings it back as USA text? cause we all know asia carts are kinda worthless as its missing sounds and what not.

I think what he means is that is the asian region with english text. If it is, then it’ll be missing the voices and what not.
ya it means it will come with english text, missing sounds from the shoto’s and theirs a mix up with yang sa1 because it says magnetic storm like necro’s sa1.
Still though reviving your kit its better to have these imperfections then being dead…
i think the head to head cab at mgl is ASIA version
when you hear about it, you think it sucks, but it actually ain’t that bad without the sounds. better than nothing for sure :wonder::wonder:

its sounding like hes a middle man for this it seems. cuz i think capcom japan charges around 100 for a restore IIRC.
sounds about right then $150 with shipping & return. I feel sorry for peeps who sold off their’s for half the value thinking there was no hope for that Kit anymore.

it seems like he is just changing the data for the carts, so the main cart being dead doesnt matter as long as there is still some sorta memory unit in there to hold the data. Also the asia version does not need batteries AFIK.
All CPS3 carts require batteries.
It still requires the battery after being reprogrammed, it’s still also as sensitive as it was before, meaning it can still easily be killed.

Did yours come back as asian version or US version?
Asia, he only has the hardware to reprogram it into Asia but he knows people in Japan and they might be able to reprogram it into USA version. He’s sending one of my carts to Japan so I’ll let you know which version it comes back as.
He can take any region dead cart (euro/asia/usa/mexico) and revive it into Asian though.
