So some Gouken (who was as crappy as me) sent me that after losing to me :

That was… Kinda unexpected, since I did saw some better Dan users (read : I suck), but it made me kinda happy somewhat.

I think it could just be because people don’t know the Dan matchup, in the sense that you can baffle the opponent with “your skills” when they’re really just the gimmicks Dan normally needs to implement to be playable (IE, LK Knee shenanigans).
Gimmicks? Perhaps, his Knee shenanigans are as intergral to his game as Ryu’s fireball trap is to Ryu’s game though so it’s definately not something to scoff at 
This is very true, my first several matches against El Fuerte come to mind. I got owned because I didn’t understand what was going on.

I got destroyed by a godly Dan about two months ago. Still traumatized. O_O
I agree, Ive played the same players repeatedly (as many 5-6 times the same day in champ) its not like after the first match they “solve” me, if something doesn’t work I try something else, mix it up. They can never stop every thing you are going to do, and sometimes dan can be down right confusing to fight.
Last week on PSN…
“faggot” vs (I think) chun li.
“ladyboy” vs blanka. (yeah, I don’t get it either…)
“noob” vs ryu
“noob” vs sagat
G2C bracket.
Best part was I replied to the Ryu and recited one of Dan’s quotes in the message: “You try to dress and act like me, but you’re just a freakin’ poseur”
I am admittedly an awful, awful Dan player but I’ve received nothing but praise so far.
Also, XBL doesn’t seem to have as many ragequitters. 
Can’t wait 'til my 360 gets back from repair so I can get back in the game!

Dan vs Dhalsim
I was impatient the first round and tried to force my way in. Didn’t work, fair win to him.
In the second round, I changed tactics and sat at the far end of the screen FA absorbing yoga fire to build meter. Occasionally, he’d teleport close to me, so I’d hit with MP, follow up however i could, then run back to the other side, repeat. With ~40 seconds to go I had ~90% health and he had ~30%. I guess he decided he was done, neither of us moved. Time over, I win.
Third round starts off same as second, about 10 seconds in, he quits. No message, but he refused to play me next time we matched up.
How the F can a Dhalsim player get mad at someone playing keep away?! That guy must have been furious! He seemed to be pretty good too but had zero patience.

I had this guile the other day, he beat me round one (hes was on a mic) and he said " man fuck your dan." I proceeded to obliterate him the following two rounds.
I played him again a day later, we traded rounds, and he beat me round 3 by a sliver. he spammed me with messages. you know, we were 1 and 1 including 3 dominant rounds by myself and 3 rounds that he barely won. You know when situations like this happen, you wonder, do they do this with everyone? I mean wouldnt you feel more trimphant, beating Sagat? or Ryu? Youd swear he beat a pro using God tier.
A couple of those, are some of the most annoying messages I receive.

What is with peoples disdain for throwing? Don’t sit the fuck back and block all day and you can eliminate how much you get thrown by like 50 percent.
Its so fucking annoying. i don’t get Hate mail in G1 hardly at all, in fact my above post was the only one so far. But in G2, Almost once every 3 matches. 90 percent of the time, stop throwing, stop X move (usually the spamming of Dan knee’s on characters with weak wake up). One guy threatened to report me for unsportsman like conduct…for what…using a move thats in the game wtf!
Oh and you can see the steam coming out of peoples ears, when the mk dan kick cross up is on fire. (mk dk cross up throw, mk dk crossup koryu mix up rinse repeat) I generally dont go for the koryu, except first time, or if I have ex to to cancel it. You can really nail people on that shit, because for some reason unless they are steller at option select, you will hit them with the koryu if they attempt a tech throw, so you can really screw up someones day unless they guess right.
Whenever i get these i reply asking them to give up a move in return. Shuts em up every time, i think because it points out the stupidity of such a statement.
“OK, i’ll stop throwing if you don’t use blanka ball”

Heh funny that, I think throwing is a pretty big part of Dan’s game due to the fact that all his Dankuu pretty much leave him in throwing range. If people don’t tech it or stop it I’ll throw after each and every single Dankuu until they finally do.
The only time I hate throwing is from those “I’m going to attack you, not really, throw sucker!” type tactics with specials. Blanka’s light ball at start of round for example. My brain just can’t adapt to that no matter how much they do it I know to jab at start of Blanka matches to stop that trick though, wait to see if they slide then jab if they don’t and hopefully it’ll catch any tricky from that spamfest.
funny how that works. 90% of the time I get praised for my Dan is after a loss, RARELY does someone man up and give me props for a solid win.
Dash back following a blocked danku they will whiff their throw, then of course the next course of action is to danku again :lol: works best on abel his command throw whiffs more often than not and he is punishable by a followup danku.
Watch who you dash back against though, an attempted reversal dp on a blocked danku will hit, how I dont know, but it will.
Just something I learned, though I havent had anyone do it yet, is EX danku IS PUNISHABLE ON BLOCK by reversal srk (tested it in training myself).
Yep, though blocked EX Danku is safe if you do it far enough away, though. I’m fairly certain it leaves you in whiff range of the SRK.
Really? I thought it was safer than HK Dankuu, hmm… have to take a look at the frame data again x_x;;
Back-dash on blocked Dankuu I only do on Abel, or Zangief after a Knee. I usually press the advantage on those Dankuus, if throws start getting teched or poked I’ll start using Kouryukens
Today, I beat a G1 Akuma 2-0 finishing him with Super Taunt both rounds.
He later sent me a message claiming I was a “hacker” and that he “reported” me.
Ha, I found that funny. Dan beating an AKUMA online!!! You must be Hacker! AKUMA never loses!!!
I guess some people can’t accept that if a player plays the match better then he can overcome the characters disadvantages. People need to stop underestimating Dans.
Finishing him off both rounds with super taunt though, now that is some serious Saikyo power.
