It took me a while to figure out the Dan matchup. I take the opportunity to play footsies (The only matchup where we’re not at a disadvantage!) and punish ranged Dankus with HP.Koryuken or Ultra.
Anyhoo, you can just spam close range Hori-Balls all day and use them beefy normals in footsies. Dan doesn’t really have a good answer for that.
I get the first two after I said… well… nothing, after I beat his Ryu with Dan. It was a four bar match going in. It was a bit laggy, but it didn’t stop me from beating him soundly, taking the first three rounds out of five.
After the first two I send "Who do you think is at the bigger disadvantage here? Dan in lag or Ryu in lag?
It’s online play. Don’t take it too seriously."
Zoopremacy’s Rebuttal: HURR! YOU DON’T KNOW INTERNETS!
Who the hell starts up a match of SFIV when they’re torrenting and then whines about it?
Whooohooooo!! Saturday night has been a great night for Dan Hibiki! I never got so many messages in a single session before. And among what I received, there was the very worst, and also the very best
So, for the worst, I got the following from a Ken who beat me quite easily (I didn’t even have time to taunt him) :
"DIE COCKSUCKER LOL"
First insult I ever received on SF4, and without any reason. That really pissed me off, but I went for a Goukenish response : “You are just a child”. He didn’t come back after that - I was certainly right.
And for the best, I got this from a competent Abel I somehow managed to defeat - or was it another character? I was playing and drinking so I don’t clearly remember the match. Anyway, I read the message again today to make sure I hadn’t dreamt it :
"Man, you make Dan look like Ryu - gg"
Hell, don’t think my Dan can ever get a sweeter compliment! My eyes go all watery as I talk about it…
It was Dan v Rose, and I was losing by 1 round. I scrubbed myself all the way to about 10hp but then; then I remembered what I had to do and performed the most furious comeback. I beat her from 100% to about 40% in a matter of seconds and it was going all well until to my dismay my opponent quitted.
