Response time with longer HDMI cable?

Hey guys,

I’ve got the ASUS VG248QE and I was wondering if I hook it up to an HDMI cable that is roughly 20-25 feet long, will I lose some response time and gain input lag? Thanks!

Google is your friend.

A quick Google search that I just did for you basically says that anything under 45-50’ is within specs of HDMI design.
So your 20-25’ is well within that range, but that also depends on the quality of your HDMI cables.

I did use Google but the answers refer mostly to Audio/video quality degradation. That’s not what I’m concerned about. Im sure the signal is fine, but adding extra input lag/response is an issue. There’s no use in having a 1ms monitor if I ruin it with a longer cable. Thanks!

Don’t worry about it.
Any lag caused by the longer cable would be measured in femtoseconds.

Thanks for the reply!
