I recently dual modded a PS3 TE Round1 with a GameStop Madcatz 360 controller. Works great in SSF4 but in 3SO in the character select screen and in versus mode, it is constantly holding down. I tested with a regular pad and it looks like 3S utilizes the right thumbstick for movement. However, I removed all the resistors and mechanics of the right thumbstick from the 360 PCB so it is giving a constant down back input. My question is, is it possible to neutralize the thumbstick with resistors, and if so which values.
I’ve used 10k resistors. Also note if you neutralized the triggers with resistors all the resistors will have to match.
I am not too sure but what is happening is that for each axis and each trigger, the center wiper is using the potentiometer (variable resistor) as a voltage divider between the ground and voltage. Since all the analogs and triggers tap from the same voltage and ground, all the resistors need to match if dividing the voltage for it to work proper.
I think it is possible that 4.7k resistors will work too, but you cannot mix and match. Last I checked the default pots where variable 10k resistors.
