yeah that jump loop you can do on everyone and it builds around 1 to 1.25 depending on the setup
I’m going to say that it builds close to two meters, since the relaunch combo version has 7 normals before the [ land, st. :s:, j., j., double jump j., j.:h:, j.:s: ] part.
The combo with a relaunch gets about 1.5 meters and has 13 normal total in the combo (if you include the double jump extra j. ).
His jump loop variant has 10 normals [ j., j., j.:h:, land, j., j., j.:h:, land, j., j.:h:, j.:s:, land st. ] before the launcher, and has a total of 16 normals in the combo (exactly as his video shows).
I’m going to replicate this combo and get the details of meter gain and damage.
Two things to say:

Coming from training mode, I cannot land the damn jump loop to measure the meter gain. I swear I could only land it once I’m at full meter which is pissing me off >:(
I can’t believe I used to land it much more easily, now I can’t (probably since I do more relaunch combos than jump loops) I can land it by doing the :l: jump loop but the damage is ass compared to the one in the video. -
Also, looking back at RayRay’s Plasma Storm chains video, I realized that the damage setting was set to low instead of normal (launcher doing 108k instead of 120 and Rocket Punch doing 135 instead of 150)
Are you sure that wasn’t just due to damage scaling?
Nah, Sentinel’s launcher is listed at 120 000 damage. So with 10% minimum scaling, it should’ve been 12 000 (just for hilarity, Doom’s j. L does 11 000 at full scaling).
The damage is set to low, a raw :s: does 120k, his did 108K, and at maximum damage scaling, it does 12k
That command grab follow up was really good.

I could only do it 10% of the time. I’m labbing it up to increase the success rate.
Yea its really hard, I’ve only seen it done like 2 or 3 times on stream but have seen it attempted quite a few times. I honeslty don’t even look at his mid-screen command grab as an offensive tool anymore, since the :l: version is 2 frames with good range, I use it in the middle of strings to create space for sent. But now that I know of the x-factor combo ill prolly start throwing that out more often.

Quick question, how much damage can sent get off a cr. with like half a bar in stock? I was just watching the t13 stream and I saw a sentinel land a cr. but go for like such an unoptimal combo(just a basic :h: :s:) and didn’t kill the ammy and consequently lost the match. Off a cr. on ammy I would normally go for the :h: unfly :h: relaunch combo but I’ve never checked how much damage that does. Anyone know?
^that was joker wasn’t it? I think in that situation he could have done any combo because it was a relatively clean hit. he could have even just done MMHS fly LMHS and would have built that meter, but he did an inefficient combo, probably because of nerves. but for your question, i think it does about 700k?
Cool cool, so he wouldn’t have been able to kill anyway then, I thought as much because of the cr. and the silly ass scaling on that. And yea it was joker. I guess in that situation he shoulda gone for some kinda reset(although I know of no resets that don’t require meter, which he didnt have).
Doing a relaunch can get you anywhere from 697,000 - 704,000 (this was done on ammy). The total meter gained AFTER SUPER is about .05-.1 meter gained. The 697k is from getting the double jump extension, meanwhile 704k is gotten from using no 's in the combo (meaning just j.:h:, j. :s: after the relaunch).
Using a flight extension gets 628k. ( fly :l: :h: :s: )
Using a double jump + fly extension ( fly :l: :h: unfly double jump :h: :s: ) gets you 645k maximum, sometimes less
Regardless, there are a few things to get out of this:
- cr. damage scaling is garbage (use an assist to help you get a reset instead or have Missiles to chain Plasma Storms)
- Go for a reset instead, unless you gonna kill them
- The combos will always get you 1 meter instead of un-optimized garbage
That was joker, and the problem was he did a bad combo and didnt get the meter he needed, sadly
Joker is notorious for making the worst decisions at the worst possible times. I cringed when I saw him do that to Amaterasu. I think I died a little on the inside. I was also salty over the fact that he FAILED to Magnetic Tempest the opponent to finish him off.
I’m just gonna pretend I never saw that failure from Canada, but anyways, anyone know where RayRay did that sick hit confirm with Sentinel with the low-altitude air ?
Gonna have to be more specific, rays always bopping niggaz with the low altitude . You talking about the double overhead he hit nickcam with when he flew in hit him with the :l: unfly ?
Yes it was the double/triple overhead with Sentinel. I remember watching it on the T13 stream. Also, the anti-X-Factor guard cancel with the Human Catapault :l: was amazing in his battle vs Joker.
